Hitting my "bluff" stand for the first time tonight. Hope to drill one of those nice bucks or have some elk come thru. Ryan will be here tomorrow and we will be hunting hard for 9-10 days!

No standout bucks for me this year, just a good group of 4.5 to 5.5 year old bucks on cam so far. Still hoping a big boy shows up somewhere in one of my hunting areas. I dont know if you can see it on that bushnell (chitty pic quality cam) the licking branch is right over the rump of those bucks in a few pix, I have pix of them hitting but the cam was too low so it cuts off their racks.. LOL so I didnt post them, I have also noticed with this latest bunch of pix that I have several bucks putting their nose in the scrapes much more ... it wont be long and the bucks here will start pawing the ground..

Well, tomorrow is the opening day for antlerless (regular season Oct 2nd) archery in my WMU. I'll be out to whack a nanny in the evening, so hopefully I can grab 50pts for the team effort! :tu:

Spoke with Dukemichaels and found out that the pass I drew for a week in December is by far the best spot and time that I could have drawn it for that area! We are going to go out on Saturday and scout it out. Turns out he knows that area real well so that should be a huge help!

    Come on September 25th!
I plan to hunt Ohio this coming weekend and hopefully KY the following weekend.

One of my Ohio properties still has standing corn and probably will for sometime. He planted late and its still very green.

Well guys, I'm off to shoot a big 8 I saw in a field over the summer. I think I have his area narrowed down. Hopefully I could put down something with decent bone on his head.

I don't know about anyone else but these last 10 days are going to kill me waiting on the opener! Looking forward to getting out with Dukemichaels this weekend to checkout that new spot I got but still going to seem like forever!

I here you man, the more you think about something, the longer it seems it takes. I'm busy trying to get a couple deer heads done and getting my hunting clothing and equipment ready, filming stuff. I seems like it never ends. You feel prepared, but there are always other things that pop up and get in the way. I will definantly be ready october 1st, I just hope the deer are because they are in for a rude of awakening!

Well, I hunted the white oak acorns yesterday and only had a couple of yearlings in range. They got a pass though. There was a time when I would have killed one of them, but anymore I like to let them get a taste of life in the woods. Besides, I'd feel guilty taking 50 points for one anyhow. ;)

    Sounds like a good plan.:tu:

My season opens Saturday and hope to make it out in the evening and Sunday.

Then the following weekend I might be heading down to the Kentucky lease.
