Well opening day is tomorrow. Tonight i am going to go get my license and shoot my broad heads and make sure they are all on
just got back from my first sit, only saw about 5 does none in range. Checked camera and a lot of doe pictures some small bucks, a cat, a huge bear, some big turkeys, and a a husband and wife riding their horses
Sweet man! ive been super busy, didnt go out yesterday. pulled cards today, got day time pics of my two hit list bucks. not sure when ill get to take a doe.
I'm worried about the rut this year where I'm at becuz they are cutting the corn down on my hunting area next week. Problem is there isn't a lot of timber and normally the corn will stand all the way into November. Farmer said they haven't cut this early since 1988.
The best producing property I hunt is about 80 acres of woods (one decent stretch and a bunch of "fingers"). It is the only woods for miles and miles. The deer bed in the thickets of the woods but they also bed heavily in the draws and drainage ditches of the fields. When the farmer cuts the fields, which is usually before the season, the hunting improves greatly so keep your head up, I still have faith you will have a great season. Also, keep in mind that no matter when that corn is cut, those bucks are still going to want sexy time when November rolls around but this time you will be able to see them coming sooner because all the corn is down. PS. 9 days.............
I fully plan on dropping one at 6:22 on October 1st. It will be a 266" 22 point buck field dressing at 272 lbs. This is my plan.....
