here is my land i want to hang 3 more stands but am waiting for pre rut to do so so i know a good spot any suggestions? FP is foodplot the red lines are the logging roads the 2 blck circles are log landings and the other one is a dry swamp. the northern most fourty is where I shot my 13 pointer last year I went in from my friends land which is the one with the food plots, he owns 1000 acres around us. otherwise we dont touch that forty or the forty below it, its the deer sanctuaries.

Good to see we have a full team now. Looks like we have a good number of teammates from the midwest. I believe we have two guys hunting Wisconsin, I think they get to start hunting this weekend.

I see you guys talking about does, they do make a huge difference in the contest. Make sure you take TWO pictures of whatever deer you shoot with you and your bow in it. If this is not done right the kill will not count.

I have to wait until Oct 1 to start chasing bucks, but I get a chance to get out there next weekend (Sep 22) to hunt the early doe season!!!

Only advice I can tell you for a big buck is don't hunt the crap out of early season. Once you educate the does they will not come buy your sets which a buck will not come by. Doesn't hurt not to shoot up all the little bucks either.

I have a certain property that I only with hunt for the early doe season. I have two stands set up just for early season does, that are right behined the house. I am just lucky enough that they like to plant beans here. I have killed a doe the first time out every year at this place. I also us it to take my daughter out. This is a place where we WILL see deer.

Jknierim that's pretty cool that you and brother hunt together. Nothing like a little competition.

Well hell, I didnt mean to get the other guy booted off because of me :(. But since Im back in I sure am getting excited for the season to start. Ill be hunting in Macon, Moultrie and Shelby counties in IL this year. I vote that we should all start a telephone # exchange so we can text throughout the season (if this hasnt already been suggested earlier)

If you find you have extra woods to hunt in Shelby County, me and your teammate Jknierim would be happy to help thin the herd a little. Those Shelby bucks are usually pretty dandy :D We grew up in Strasburg. Been trying to get my hands on some property to hunt up there for last cpl years

I hunt early season (before it gets ruined) public land around Findlay, so you're more than welcome anytime lol! Ive encountered some fantastic bucks around the lake on the public land there so I like to hit it up a couple of times early on but usually give it up by late October when all the yahoos start filling the woods up with their constant grunting and rattling.
