Well early doe end yesterday and the temps dropped hard today...go figure ...lol 65 /44 . Looks like the trend from now on. Spreading , once again, the last of rye to try to beat birds. This with nitrogen because a rain is due at 1pm. I have growth just thin compared to what I want. Going to ha e fat turkey this fall season from amount of droppings. Now deer, doe sightings have been rare compared to past years. This early doe with rifles allowed just made that more pronounced. Lots of gun shots the last two dawns and dusk times. Now they say it makes bucks roam more, but you need doe to produce buck. Numbers go down in a herd and stress increases from coyote and fox, bear the remaining doe will produce more doe fawns than buck. Ma nature trying to correct. In the mean time that leaves all buck on the list. Most here are meat hunters me included. In this economy more so than any other time. DEC Best wake up soon with 6 possible doe and 2 buck in this region.
Really warm here this week but it looks to cool down this weekend with showers in the forecast. Will try to get out this week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There was zero movement here on sunday afternoon...and as typically happens here all the cameras have gone dead for buck activity. Not to worry, they will return in October, they always do. Sent from my SM-S908U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Good luck guys. I found first fresh droppingin the middle of land yesterday. Good sized to boot. Now that plots are done, as they are, I will steer clear of any movement past garden area.I managed fixing a couple of blind sites while out the past few days. Oh went to put birds to bed the other night and close garden gates. 30 yrds kicked a black bear from under blue berries, yes still have ripening berries. He made some noise trying to clear the fence. Must say nearly wet myself in the near dark conditions and tight quarters of fencing. First time ever we've had what you can call a resident bear. Usually spring /fall walk throughs.
I'm not sure if I'll hunt Saturday. I'm working Saturday night. I'll be out Sunday afternoon and Monday morning weather if permits. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
Farmer cut his beans and another cut all clover alfa fields within a few miles. I now have deer during the day!!!!
A couple of bucks from the last few weeks. Telling myself they are all off limits… for now. Have a debate going with friends. What would you guess the buck in the 2nd picture scores? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm in the stand. Only seen 1/2 dozen raccoons. I have to make it a quick hunt this morning. My granddaughter has a soccer game. I'll need a nap afterward. I'm working this afternoon. Plan to sleep in tomorrow morning, 90% change of rain. Hopefully, it will clear up for afternoon hunt. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
Nice I hope you have another down today if your out. I remember my first bow buck but not the date. Home made camo , a borrowed 50 yr old Kodiak bear 45# recurve. Shooting fingers and instinctive, 7 pt.. I know it was well into Oct because back then our season started Oct 15th.
