September 23rd in Arkansas. I may not hunt opening day because of work, but I'll definitely hunt 24th. Oklahoma is October 1st. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
I usually don't name bucks. I am naming my top three, for now, Moe, Larry, and Curly. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
The quest for a buck I call Mega continues for me this year. Pretty sure I have my first picture of him in 2019 as a 2 1/2yr old. He’s now blown up into a mega giant. He doesn’t show up until the beginning of November so I’m not sure what he looks like this year, but we know he was alive as on 1/6/2023 with no hunting left. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Good luck! Went out this morning left phone on kitchen counter. Had 2 doe and fawn skirt me at 60 yrds coming out of bean field. That's all I saw. Came back and passing coop decide to butcher the remaining Tom..way late. He's been guarding the hens but way too big. Well he won't be a roast. He takes up on whole fridge shelf so he won't be frozen whole Completely dressed 30 1/2 #.
Tossed out some throw and grow Sunday. We got 5/8" of rain Monday night. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
Fri. Morning temps about 55 and high of upper 70s through the weekend. Opening 3 afternoons I should be on stand. Let's rumble.
Big cool down tonight and high of 60 tomorrow. Hope to at least see something moving. I know I have an area that they move through because they've hit the berry leaves very hard. I just don't know from which direction or time. Thinking morning returning to swamp bedding. Which makes wind criticle for the ground blind I can use for a good shot. That or a stand near more berries that they use to travel to the corn field and back. This is another wind crucial spot. Well see when I get up in the morning. SE, SSW or an E wind. Nothing north
I’m not huge on early season sits if I’m being honest. Especially when I’m getting no bucks on my cell cams. The last time I shot a doe was probably 3 seasons ago. Will check my cams on Saturday and likely get in the stand Saturday afternoon just to be in a tree. North Dakota was good to get in a tree, but I’m ready for this cooler weather. We still have a lot of venison leftover from the buck I got last November. There are only a few of us that eat it. I give away/bring sticks and summer sausage everywhere I go. Not sure what I would do with 2 deer worth a year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
We don't buy beef at the store. My son-in-law is a cattle farmer. We buy beef from him. Sent from my SM-G990U1 using Tapatalk
