Finally what I consider a shooter buck at my camp. Normally bucks don’t show up until first of December. IMG_3497.png IMG_3493.jpeg

Waiting on some saddle molle clips to arrive. Believe I will have everything I need to get up and down quietly. Full test run soon. Haha

A buddy sent me a saddle set up. Aero hunter saddle and stand. I have some Hawk sticks that I've had for awhile but never used. Took off the webbing connector and put on a lightweight tension strap. I modified a backpack with molle webbing...I'm a work in progress. Haha.

    So today's practice was.....interesting
A bit concerned about shoulder,on my mind.
I move target to do close steep shots my first shot, I find the rest broken. Ok fiddle with that for a fix.
Concentration off I shoot and manage way high skim top of block whack into bank behind it. Yep hit a rock, practice broadhead and insert is now 3 inches down shattered shaft.
I recover from all that and shoot several good groups from different spots and distance. Then on last arrow retrieval I manage to pull out broadhead and catch my leg below the knee. Tiny hole in my pants but a 5in scratch deep enough to bleed and sting pretty good
OK that took care of all the opening morning foolishness I have every season...I hope
PS. Shoulder has a slight twinge, but I shot a lot. Darn good since last year no matter what I did I STRUGGLED BIG TIME to draw my bow back. For no apparent reason at all.

Wash out still just pouring out there. Temp drop though..big time . If it is only rain I may take the crossbow out in the morning and hit an enclosed blind. The one I think will be good before plots get establish is too difficult to draw and shoot from with the compound. Several trails around blind that go in and out of the bean field. Also kity corner to a corn field 100 yrds away.

Sighting in broadheads, clearing shooting lanes, and checking cameras tomorrow. I've only had does on one of my cameras all summer. Bucks usually don't start showing up until late October. I will probably save that stand for the rut. I am on vacation October 22 - 28 and November 12 - 18.

I had 3400 pictures at my "rut" stand with only one decent buck and a handful of small bucks. The rest were does. Looks like all the bucks on my early stand have stripped their velvet. Shooting lanes cleared and broadheads sighted in. STC_0316.jpg STC_0335.jpg
