Haven’t used scents in a few years but decided to try out black widow for my scrapes this year. Octoberfest and drinking today, girls birthday and Vikings game tomorrow, then get scrapes going for the cold front that’s coming.

It's too hot to hunt, 90° but I'm out anyway.

I saw 6, and all were does and fawns. Hunting opening morning in Oklahoma. First time hunting this stand. I killed a good 8 point several years ago on the same ridge. The deer are in there. IMG_20181202_153825_277.jpg

Back in the stand sure did feel good this morning. Saw 11 does only 3 came in range but still was not able to get a shot off. I’m going to save that spot for tomorrow morning and go hunt another stand in between two big corn fields this evening. By the way, I have no cell service.

This morning was a bust. I did get a camera hung. I'll hunt there next weekend if only for a card pull. This evening, I'm set up near the biggest persimmon tree I've ever seen. It's at least 80' tall. 20231001_160804.jpg

Same here Jr. I prepped a stand area 2 days ago and broke a vine in half and made a "natural" scrape If you know what I mean. Tight window so I'm hoping a buck comes in and slows down near that scrape.

Temps are going to drop late this week and I only have 1 day off from now til next Tuesday. Ughh. Miss my old work schedule.

Last night I’m pretty sure I had the most amount of bucks on camera in a single night. Most are small but I had my 2 biggest plus a few new faces show up.

I saw three does and 3 spikes this morning. Checked my camera in Oklahoma. Nothing huge, but a couple of bucks peaked my interest. STC_0392.jpg STC_0305.jpg STC_0269.jpg

Nothing for me tonight. Helped a buddy track a doe he shot with no luck. Staying cool with a major cold front moving through at the end of this week. Going to get in the stand as much as I can. The “October lull” can suck it.

32 degrees with a nice frost this morning. Sure would have been nice to be in a tree. I should be out this afternoon though.

Sat out last night as support for my other half and froze my butt off! Thought i had enough time to washmy camo fleece...nope so went with what i had...didnt see anything because my teeth were chattering! Did a camera pull... 13 pt buck is already broken on the main beam on one side after the G3. Heavy 8pt, 9 pt and couple spindly 8s and 1 other 9 mulling around. Other half saw a small 5 pt. Im waiting until the big boys syart chasing to sit out and getting "The ol man" or "the kid".
Good luck to those sitting out, be weel and stay safe!
