Right after work this evening I’ll be heading to my public land spot about 30 minutes north of where I live and putting out a couple of cameras had some really good deer there last year on camera. Sunday I will be headed to Illinois to check a couple of cameras that I put out a few months ago also, I will tweak a couple of my stand locations
For those that don't know me I'm Jake and I'm from central MN. I basically hunt one 47 acre farm all year round and am going to North Dakota this Thursday for their opener. Life has been so busy for me this year that I haven't got to do much in terms of preparation. I've had my cams out but that's about it. I haven't shot my bow nearly as much as I have in the past since we moved into town and I don't have a fence/good backstop. I'm 35 years old, work from home, and have no kids so finding time to hunt in the fall is usually pretty easy for me (girlfriend doesn't bug me about it TOO much). I put the most amount of time in a tree than I ever had last year. I have a few good ones on camera but it's slower compared to other years. Not too worried though it seems like I always have nice ones come through around the rut. I have been hunting a buck of a lifetime the last 2 years maybe he will bless me with an opportunity. Excited to be in a tree on Friday!
Just a little info about myself my name is Brad. I live in West Alabama and I am a maintenance electrician at the UA. I am 43 years old been married for 24 years and have two teenage boys. My work schedule is 6 AM to 2:30 in the afternoon so I can hunt just about every afternoon. I have to work every home football game that Bama plays so that ties me up at least seven Saturdays during season. I own 40 acres where my house is which I have to be careful not to over hunt ,me and my father-in-law bought 180 acres in the county next to us a couple of years ago which we are still developing. The deer numbers on that piece is not that great, normally the buck will show up around rut, which is the end of December and the first of January. I also hunt a large piece of public ground that is close to my home. The thing is it gets pounded with gun hunters and small game hunters. I will also be hunting Public land in Illinois Hopefully I will hunt opening weekend, which is the first ofOctober and I will be back up the first of November to hunt the rut.
Brett here. Hunting smaller tracts of public land spots in Missouri. In a new job and also involved with my youngest travel soccer team. Means I'll have to make the most of my hunting chances. Looking forward to the challenge.
Got out and shot quite a few arrows tonight. Dealing with a bit of trigger punch and trouble settling the pin. Shoot a bunch more tomorrow hope it’s cleared up. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bring in your shots to 10 to 15 yds. Release and focus on follow through. Will take away that anxiety. Then the next day or two repeat...then right into your 20 and 30 yd shots using the same form. Bingo
Put a couple of cameras out this afternoon on some public land. Really steep terrain pine tickets on top and SMZ mixed timber along a creek. I put the cameras on a couple of heavily used trails. This area is really hard to hunt because of the terrain. I’ll let them sit until October.
Hello, guys. My name is John. I hunt a couple of small acreage spots in NW Arkansas. I've had good success harvesting deer on them. I also hunt out of state in NE Oklahoma. As a member of the Cherokee tribe, I do not have to purchase a license as long as I hunt within the boundaries of the reservation (14 counties). My son in law owns 300 acres and leases another 1000 acres that I have access to hunt. Currently, I am only running cameras in Arkansas. I saw a bachelor group of ten bucks a couple of weeks ago behind my house. There were seven nice bucks in the group. I have trail cam pics of an eight point that will be hard to pass up.
