Well went to the Doctor yesterday walked out of there pretty good as they felt nothing was broke either. Sent me for x Rays just to make sure. Got a phone call saying they set me a appt with a orthopedic today cause my clavicle was cracked. But they forgot to mention my shoulder socket was cracked to. In a sling with a 1 month follow up... that will put me 1 week before Ohio opener if everything is good by then.

What crossbow you slinging with Tom? I'm thinking about helping pops get into a Mission MXB Dagger or their Sniper Lite next year...shoulders are just not as strong for him as they were.

Hey fellas JLS stated he'd be too busy this year to be our Captain (liaison) to Fitz for any questions, captain communications from him to teams and other things that really are minimal in task.

I've done it enough and prefer not to...anyone willing to be considered?

Rick I say you do it too bud. With your self-willingness and no one else speaking up I say make it official and PM Fitz letting him know you and not JLS will be el captain this year.

Rick has my vote, I can't thank him enough for stepping up and offering to do it.

Sorry that I couldn't do it this year, I've been extremely busy this year and don't see an end in sight. I will probably not be on here much but will still find the time to put some meat in my freezer and some points on the board.

Sounds good guys - I just pinged Fitz so he knows. Let me know if I need to be doing anything in particular.

When you start using the word "pinged" in reference to contacting someone you know you've been working in the IT field too long.

Rick if your going to take the task that works, if for some reason you cant I would also throw up the offer.

Shoulder has been doing good as far as I know. I am only using the sling 50/50 now just because of the other complications it was causing with other muscles. Could hardly roll out bed from things tightening up. I feel I don't even need the sling but I know its just to help mobilize it for healing process. Worst comes to worse crossbow is my first option but I am hoping/ thinking I will be ok by the time seasons roll around. Next Doctor apt is the 18th and I am really hoping I get the ok to start shooting again.

Was able to get out on Sunday and get two food plots done right before a storm rolled in. Checked cams and only the good 8 showed up. Next time I am out I will be switching cams to food plots, acorns, scrapes/ mock scrapes.

That's good news Nick. Glad there haven't been any other issues and hopefully the doc visit goes well.

Well I received the go ahead, from my buddy that owns the property my my new spot is on, to pick whatever I wants to plant there as a food plot for late season hunts. What do you guys suggest? I'm completely new and ignorant to the food plot game. We had planned on using winter rye but he said I could plant whatever I saw fit. Would like a good mix of things that could last late into season and winter if possible.

Definitely want some sort of brassica for late season. I planted Frigid forage big and beasty one year and was really impressed with how it turned out. only problem was I didn't have deer in the late season to eat it......
