Almighty is on frequently just doesn't comment but blood's been since August that he's been on so I shot him an email....don't have his number so we will wait and see if he checks in with an update.

*I'll be back at it again this afternoon fellas....while focused on bucks, right doe comes in I'll probably take one.

4 does down and season just came in. Off to a awesome start guys. We keep this up and knock down a few bucks will be able to wrap this thing up. Working today, but probably will be heading out in the mornings to try and get a doe/ keep a eye on dumb *** to make sure he doesn't try to do anything stupid again. Don't know how good my odds will be for a doe in the mornings but I will be out. If my buddy wants to hunt he will be hunter Saturday night then the wind is suppose to calm down and I will be back in the same stand as last night Sunday. Have a feeling the really high winds kept them in areas they where able to be blocked from the wind.

Yeah riverbottom behind me last night sounded like it had movement but being about 50 feet down the ridge I couldn't see (although foilage would make it impossible now anyways)...think they hung down there nibbling on acorns before light gave out.

Got my first set in last night. Man did that feel good. I'm sick as a dog right now, but I don't care at all, I figure I'll sleep and rest once I'm dead. :tu:

Hunted the rare N/NE wind last night that I needed to get in a spot where I'd been getting pics of a nice 9 we have named "Cecil" and a 10 that I'm calling "Perfect 10". Both are likely mid 140's deer. Nothing showed, not even a tail. Still better than working.........

Pulled two cards on the way out. Seems the deer have shifted a bit in the last 3 weeks since I was last here. Going to rethink my strategy for tonights sit. One more shot in Jo Daviess County and then I'm headed 3 hours south tomorrow morning and going to give it a shot down at my place in Fulton County.

Well I spent all day today processing my doe. She was a decent sized one. I ended up with 35 lbs of meat from her. 22lbs of ground and 13 in steaks and backstraps. Also still have probably at least another 5lbs in scraps still on the carcass that I'm gonna cook down tomorrow to make dog food for my pup.

Well fellas some of you may have saw on Small Acre's Facebook page....today pops and I hit the swamp property to check our cams hung on dummy cam in hopes of catching thieves striking again. Once cams pulled we decided to drive by one of our stands one of us was gonna hunt this afternoon/evening...well the stand had been cut and taken.....they left the ladder sticks, bow holder and rope. Freaking scums.

We went to the neighboring home of the nearest property and after meeting and discussing are 90% sure it wasn't them....which leaves basically the same folks we think did camera theft. Needless to say I was so infuriated I didn't even wanna hunt...idiots are ruining our desire to hunt right now.

Was so pumped to hunt this property for first time and this happens....oh well...Police report will be filed...new stand will be cable locked to deter it (and straps will need check tho as could cut them).

Hope everyone never experiences this...in many ways I wish it was just trespassing. Theft is a whole not her animal.

Thanks sucks Ty....sorry. When I get back home I'll submit that 7 point. Sorry guys.....It's probably only worth 50. I'm happy with it though. Seen 4 bucks this morning though, one was the big 9 point. Behind too many limbs for a shot. The farthest I've ever killed with a bow is around 38-38 yards. This was 49 yards....lol. The good pics are on my laptop.

Congrats and no need to apologize. If you enjoyed the hunt that's all that matters. Good luck and looking forward to hearing if you can get on that 9 point!

Well guys, no luck for me this weekend. Pretty disappointed with what I'm getting on cam at my place down in Fulton County, may not get back down there until the weekend of 10/24.

I'll be hunting the local suburban spot I've got next weekend, and will likely be headed to my leases in the NW part of the state the weekend of 10/17. Already can't wait to get back in the woods!

I mean 15 inch beams and a 10 inch spread alone puts you at 40....

For the people that aren't in the group message. Not going to complain with this weekends sits. Opted to skip out on morning hunts due to rain but made it out for the evenings. Saturday was a bit slower then I expected but ended up seeing 2 doe and 2.5 year old. Sunday I went back to the food plot ended up seeing 4 doe and about 30min before dark I noticed 3 deer in the field to the south. Pulled up the binos and could tell 2 where good bucks and one was smaller. due to leaves and so far off I couldn't tell exactly who/ what they where but one of them very well may of been Turkey foot. Tuesday I am going to drive over there and check things out to see if I can get a set down there but I think most of the trees would just be to open. Only going to get out Tuesday, this weekend, and may be able to sneak in a hunt on the 13th before leaving for Wyoming for a week. Tuesday I am planning on hunting the wood lot where I have suspected Turkey foot to call home but just haven't been able to hunt it the past two years due to no cover for exit and entry but with it being surrounded by corn this year should be able to get in and out no problem.

    Little update:

Got off phone with a detective handling the trail camera theft case. He is currently visiting the suspected family, and like we assumed if they don't admit to anything that will be the end of it as we have no physical evidence against them.

This is good and bad, this family as I've shared is not-law abiding folks. This in one breath tells them we are not going to keel over and not call the cops like most do with their actions....may work in our favor. BUT this also could infuriate them enough to start taking more cameras, stands and doing so by seeking them out instead of just taking what they see.

Bad thing is I will feel leary every time I'm hunting over there walking across open spaces....not cool.

Well I am sure they wont admit to anything but at least it lets them know you are not messing around. They could ease up and not take anything or it could start a war. Lets hope they realize things and back off. Can you carry while hunting?

Yes I can.....just wish I didn't feel the need. It has always been the only time I don't carry as gun oils and leather holsters are not scent free type stuff....but I've even told dad to dust his revolver off because I won't let him hunt there without it.
