Nick-That's great that you are ready to start rehabbing.

Here are the photo's of my camera that got struck by lighting. Not much you can do about it.

Your health is not something to mess with. We all know this but, usually push the limits. Guilty of it myself. Waiting a few more weeks will only hurt mentally... Maybe see how far they push you in PT?

I agree here, no sense in risking further injury

Yeah that's why I have been hesitant because I don't want to try pushing it to much and making things worse. The only thing that makes me think I should be ok is him saying that it would have to take a pretty hard impact for things to re-break and he never said a straight no I shouldn't which if the risk was high of something happening he would have. But then he also never said I would will be good go with shooting. I work with doctors and was thinking about asking there input on it but then again that might just be pointless since there specialty is cardiology.

Sorry to hear. I broke my middle finger on my release hand back in May, ended up taking about 2 full months to be able to shoot again (I use a thumb trigger). I started using a squish ball on my desk at work to regain my grip strength. Still not 100% and I only have about 90% range of motion but I'm good enough to shoot now for sure.

    Good luck!

Also guys - I wanted to post a quick reminder for you all since we have guys hunting. The score thread already has some entries that don't follow the guidelines.

You need to have two separate pics that include you, the deer, and your bow. Good luck, and please make sure you get these for all entries!

Worse come to worse you might of been able to switch back to a wrist style without any issues.
    What release you using?

I could have, but didn't want to change my bow setup or anchor point. Plus for the first month or so it hurt a lot, so I just didn't want to push it. I currently use a Carter Just Cuz for everything except hunting. I've also got a TRU Ball ST-3 with the modular wrist strap that I use for hunting.

I have gone back and forth with having a wrist strap for mine. When I had the True fire hard core 4 finger I grabbed my bow and was looking a buck through my nocs then when I put them down I hit my release off the D-loop and down my release went. It's a good thing he didn't come into range..... I have the Scott Exxus now and it locks on a lot better but I still fear something like that happening again.

That's exactly why I'm using the ST-3. TRU Ball allows you to add a modular wrist strap to their thumb triggers, so it's always attached. Plus mine is an open hook so you don't have to cock the sear on it to click on the loop, most quality thumb triggers are loud when you cock them.

Yeah mine has a pretty good click when you do it. But I just clip it on to my d loop when I get into the stand. Only down fall I would have with having it on a wrist strap is the risk of the release bouncing off my camera arm making noise. Kind of one of the reasons I switched to a thumb style.

Well feel a lot better today. Talked to one of the docs at work yesterday and he made me feel more comfortable with the decision. Basically told me I should be fine to shoot. Ended up shooting a few rounds last night when I got home. Things where a little tight in the shoulder but that's kind of expected from not using it hardly for the last month. No soreness after or today so that's a good sign. Just not going to over do things and slowly work my way back into shooting more

I was nervous on how it would feel today but things seem to normal. Just have to build some muscle back up and not over do it in the process.

I seen a post from you today on IG, going to have a million questions on those for you

All set up in my climber at one of my public land spots. It's crazy warm and I broke out in a huge sweat on my way in. Oh well.. hopefully the wind doesn't change direction on me and something walks the trail this evening.

Well nothing came by this evening. I had a mishap right before climbing down and have to fix my bow now. I usually get all set up in the stand and draw my bow back. I realized I hadn't done that on this sit so right before getting down I went to draw my bow and heard a snap and my bow jerked. I looked down and there was a twig piece that derailed my string off the drawl length module part of my cam. It was tiny and I didn't notice it even with the numerous times I looked at my bow. I'm gonna make sure to check the cams closer each time I get into the tree from now on. Hope I can fix it pretty quickly.
So take this as a friendly reminder always check your cams before drawing your bow especially when your bow sits on the ground before hoisting it into the tree.
