You guys see this.....the young fellas play nice, while all you old foggies talk smack:d Good luck to you too Rory...I hope to see you in a trophy pic in about..oh...12 days
I sure hope you're right:d From the looks of our team it's looking good. Im excited to be on a team with these guys. I'll try to do my part
You guys are lucky that get to hit the woods early. I still have nearly a month. Although, it would be so hot it's probably a good thing we start on the 1st.
Jeff, Any problems out of Hanna? I see we have Ike that appears to be bearing down on the Gulf. I was hoping to get my plots in this weekend but it looks like I'll be postponed again by yet another hurricane!
Good luck to you Jeff! I got the 6yr old and 3yr old out of the house yesterday and began prepping a couple food plots that I hope will pay off big. It's only 40 acres of land but it joins 3,000 acres owned by Will Primos. I don't plan to go in there until December. I want the few resident does to get comfortable coming to the plot and I'm hoping they will drag a love sick buck in with them!
Jeff, We have some weird laws...... We can sort of bait.... The feeder must be 100yds away and can not be in your line of sight. There are also laws about what can and can not be in the feeder. For example, from July - December 1, you can only use the pellet style feed. From December 1 thru February you can mix corn in with it. You must use a spin feeder or covered trough and you have to register the feeder and get a permit. Its a bunch of BS and too much trouble to fool with! I've got a few places on that 40 where that scenario could pay off and I am considering that route. I'm gonna get my plots up first and see what kind of activity I have.
This is just my "after work" spot along with several others. I've tried to add a few extra spots this year to make it more appealing to get a quick hunt in here and there without having to travel 45 minutes to my main hunting property. I've got a few 40 acre private spots and a 2,000 acre bow only area that are all local and just a few minutes from home that I plan to do just that on. We'll see how it works out.
Jeff, I went to walmart and found ONE box of the 10 gallon freezer bags and you were right, they are perfect! I'd like to have one more box and I'll be set. I got most of my camo washed in scent away and I've got them air drying now. I'll spray 'em down and put them away this afternoon. One of my favorite aspects of the hunt is preparation!
Well ladies, will there be a buck on the ground for this team tomorrow? I'm looking forward to Jeff's reveal tomorrow or Sunday.
