Hoyt you're carrying us! I went out for about an hour yesterday but didn't find anything. I may get out again this week some time, but I'm not for sure on it. If not, I'll try it again on the weekend.

Found 3 more today. I have pics from all 3 bucks, so I was extremely happy to find these. The biggest one is a match to one I found over a month ago. image.jpg

    33 (today)
We had a decent morning walking. I found 3 dead bucks and a decent shed. Also found the tiniest little bit of a tine tip. Wonder if that also counts as one?

I find almost all my sheds on the main place I hunt. I know of almost every single buck that lives there and their hangouts. I also walk a lot. I've found that there is a certain pace I can walk at that I still get thorough coverage and cover a lot of ground. There are a ton of guys better at this than me. It takes a lot of time and some obsession for me to search for specific sheds. It also helps to have a place that holds a couple hundred deer. I was actually just going through pictures of bucks seeing how many I have left to find, and believe me I won't find them all.

Any tips for a first timer? How many miles have you walked to find all of these?

Snake-My team had the same thing last year where Dawg found a tine that was broken off. We asked and were told we could count it as a shed. I would think you counsel count it.

That is impressive you even found that. It does count as a shed but if you find the whole shed it came off of it will then only count as one. Either way a great find!

I have absolutely no idea how many miles I've covered, but it's quite a few. A couple things to remember, go where the bucks are. With the type of winter we've had, all the bucks around here have been bunched up pretty tight using the same bedding and feeding. Put yourself in their place;find that place that is the warmest and close to the food source. And if you get an overcast day, it makes things 10x easier to see.

Believe me when I say I was shocked to find it! Probably one of my best finds ever. I want to find the sheds off a button buck so bad, they should be about the same size as this tine tip. I doubt I ever find anything this small again.
