Nice find Hoyt. Most of the bucks are still holding tight. I saw 11 bucks yesterday and only one small one was missing one side. The good news is that I don't think I had pics of any of these bucks that I saw, and I watched where they all went back to the same bedding area. Hopefully I will be able to find a few of their sheds. Right now I'm still playing the waiting game, just doing a little trapping to pass the time.
Anybody having any luck this weekend? I'm working tonight and tomorrow night, so I'll be looking on Monday if my cameras show they have started dropping.
Nice work Hoyt. We are getting some snow dumped on us right now, but I'll be out in the morning after work. If the cams show they are still holding I will focus on shooting some coyotes and setting some beaver traps instead.
I watched a bunch of bucks yesterday midday. Most of them still had both sides. I'm gonna take my wife out for a walk tomorrow, but I doubt that we find much. Hopefully I'll see some coyotes to euthanize.
Got another one today in the ice. I'll post a pic later. It was from a buck that I had never seen before until 2 days ago. Right after I picked it up I saw him going across the field with a couple other bucks that still had both sides. He was still hanging on to his other side. Should be a nice buck this fall.
Great job fellas! We still have a bunch of snow here in Ohio but as soon as the weather warms up and snow starts melting on southern facing slopes, I'll be out!
Great job Snake. It is supposed to warm up next week so I hope to get out and see if anything has dropped.
Well, I get off work in an hour and have to be back in again at 6 pm. But, I can't resist the urge to go look for a few sheds this morning. I'm gonna try and set a couple beaver traps and look around the fields for a little bit before I go to bed. Hopefully there will be some laying on the field edges, cause I'm definitely not doing any walking today as tired as I am.
Well most of the snow is melted here and I've been waiting for this day for a long time! Cant wait to get out there about 1 and walk until dark.
