Sounds promising Brandon! Just came back from my lease only picture is of the idiot that left the keys for the camera boxes in the truck... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Yup..I was on the phone with my wife and not thinking. Next thing you know I'm at a camera and I can't open it. I have spare batteries and cards but no keys...ugh Thankfully I have a couple cellular cameras that I get some information from.
So the new place i scouted is phenomenal. I saw 5 definite shooters. One was a deer of a lifetime. I saw him bounding away while i had a staredown with this guy. We stared at each other for i bet 5 min. He was the only buck who wasnt camera shy. The first deer we saw was the biggest six pointer ive ever seen in real life. Main beams were like logs. The last two bucks were solid 140” deer. We saw a bunch of does with fawns. I covered alot of ground. My next step is to figure out how to slip in and hunt these bucks. It will be a challenge.
New ground with big bucks, sounds pretty exciting. Thats a great looking buck, I hope it works out for you and there won't be to many people in there.
He was for sure. I have video of him walking past us at about 45/50 yds like we werent even there. For whatever reason this deer did not see us as a threat at all. Every other deer we saw that saw us or smelled us bolted on high flag alert.
So whos got any upcoming plans? Its a grind for me with work right now. I wanted to get some more done at the local spot by my house. Thats where i will take all the little kids that i get out there. Guess ill be setting up a blind last minute. Opener here in IL is 11 days away and my workload at work just keeps piling on. Oh well, first world problems.
Season opens here October 2nd. I have been pulling cards every Saturday. If I can sneak in early (I'm hunting right behind my house) - I have a good chance at a buck as they seem to be there on cool mornings between 630-730. I have to go out soon and rake the sticks away from my stand and hang my bow string up. I do not take any time off for bow season, tough at times I do scoot out a little early or come in a little later once day light savings kicks in.
