I posted in LFTS last night. I had an internal conflict on whether to set up on clover or corn. From the corn stand i could see the clover but it was iffy wind. I chose the corn stand cause i thought with the single digit freeze we had that the corn would be more appealing. Well i was wrong lol, imagine that. I watched about 15 deer total in the clover plot and 2 bruisers came in chasing a group of does right before dark. In a way im glad i didnt hunt clover stand cause i wouldnt have seen the big ones. I would have shot one of the small does and been on the ground probably before they got there. On a good note. I have 2 more hints in my bag and i will continue to go to MO because of what i just saw. Its not that bad of a drive for me. Dont give up faith guys still have a good shot at putting a doe or buck down which would put us in second. If matt or greg or wisco gets one down and other top teams dont score we will win it.

    Sounds promising Brandon!

I would have done the same thing probably. Last few days the deer have been in the clover at my lease too.

    Good luck, stay after them!

Well guys i thought this eve would be a slam dunk. I mustve pushed the limit too far cause i didnt see one deer come into that food plot. I had to make a little noise and there isnt enough screen cover on this plot to have good access. Improvements will be made for next year.

Welp, looks like my season may have come to a close a few days early. My granny went back in the hospital with pneumonia so I’m taking care of my uncle. I’ve seen deer just about every time I’ve been out these past few days, just none in range. It was definitely the most weirdest seasons I’ve ever hunted for lack of movement.

hey guys sorry I've been a ghost, I ended up testing positive for covid on January 1st then I wasn't really getting better and went to urgent care because I was having some issues breathing. Turns out I had pneumonia with the covid. bottom line is I'm just getting back to somewhat normal. I'm going to attempt going to work for a few hours today and see how it goes. Temps were brutal cold last week but are decent now. I'll hopefully get out for another sit or two this year, but I'm not making any promises.

First off let me say what a pleasure its been sharing this season with you all. I went tonight and saw a couple small bucks together and a doe. They were all too far away. I think im hanging it up. Tomorrow is officially the last day of illinois season but im tired and my shoulder is sore and i miss my kids. What a great season. Im so proud of our team. We really did put up a fight. If the bozo whos typing this right now would have got his doe posted we would only be 1-1/8” out of first place!! There may be a sliver of possibility i might go out tomorrow eve for a couple hrs close to home but probably not. I have to hand it to my wonderful wife. She has put up with kids and the house through this whole season. It really does take someone special to put up with what we all do. They go through so much to allow us to live our hobby. God bless and cheers guys (and gal). Wish we couldve won and been on same team next year but…. Ill see you all around . Cheers!:bow:

Amen brother, It was fun! Pretty cool to be in the running right out of the gate and right up until the end. Through for sure we were going to win with this group.

I haven’t heard any fat lady singing yet Dan.

My wife said i should go out for the last evening. Shes taking the kids to see her parents. Guess i may as well go to a spot close to the house. I have another 3-4 hrs of hunt left in me i think.

I don’t think so other than Brandon. I was fairly certain we were going to win. I give you guys credit. It’s tough to win this thing, this is definitely the closest I’ve come and I have been on some good teams.
