We are definitely still in this. I still believe we will win. Anything can happen. My #1 who has been a ghost most of the season was on his feet yesterday strolling around during daylight without a care in the world.
If any of you follow the LFTS thread i posted my grandpa passed away on the 27th. Threw a wrench in some of my plans but i will still be able to get out a few times in next couple weeks. My wife told me i should go. May go in the AM if i feel like it. If not im definitely getting out sunday after this cold comes in
Sorry for you loss, Brandon. Losing mine was one of my hardest years. He was my rock and my inspiration to life.
Hey Team. Happy New Year. Wishing you all a wonderful 2022. Posted on LFTS had this guy roaming daylight. Hope he makes it till next year. Hes not tall but good and wide. Same deer in both
Heck yes that a good one. Pretty cool its January and we are only 51 and 1/8 points out of first place. Weather looks like its going to get really cold this week. Wife will hopefully be in a tree tomorrow evening. I have materials for a couple more mock scrapes I want to put out as well as some mineral sites that need to be refreshed. Santa hooked me up with a couple more cellular cameras too. I want to be in a little better position next season than I was last fall when I did very little in the off season. I'm hoping to get a few stands moved this winter too. I want to be ready to defend our title...
Hell yes Dan. Im looking at maps right now plotting my next assault. Temps are dropping off big time here as we speak. As long as i dont get iced in, ill be out all day tomorrow. Goal is to put a doe down. But wont hesitate on a decent buck either. Headed to Missouri to a property i used to turkey hunt. Good deer density but might take me a couple sits to figure it out.
Went out Saturday. It was wet. Didn't see anything, but checked cameras. Quite a few does - but either small bucks or half racks. Not sure if they're shedding or lost battles to the big guys around. Probably wont go out much, if at all, anymore. Winter temperatures have officially hit and I personally cannot handle them.
Thats ok Kristen. Hope you at least had some fun this season. If anything its just nice to get some fresh air. Dont punish yourself by going out to be miserable. I bet its feezing up there. Ugh
Oh I wont, I draw the line somewhere. Surprisingly, we have no snow. Which is very odd. But, it's a balmy 23 today with a real feel of 19. I enjoy going out - like you said, fresh air. Just wish I had more time. This past season just seemed like I was super busy, all the time.
10 days left of season for me. I’ve been out a few times, missed twice on a doe lol! I’m still out here swinging.
Lets Go GREG!!!! Haha! I actually have a few days bereavement pay for my grandfather so im off until next Tuesday. Will be pretty busy getting ready for the services which are this Saturday and Sunday, but im sure ill be able to squeeze a hunt in or 2. If i head back over to Missouri i can kill a buck so ill drop whatever at this point and wont be picky. If im over here in Illinois i am bucked out so any antlerless will do including button buck. Im still meat hunting for a friend who was remodeling his house this year. A list of nightmares with the house he was working on cost him his season. He only got out one time.
So - what do you think this is? Mind you, bobcats and both mountain lions aren't very normal around here. NW corner of Pennsylvania.
Wow. I would say bobcat because it kinda looks like hes got black barring on his lower legs but hard to tell.
Headed over the river to Missouri for the evening hunt so i can put buck or doe down. I am still meat hinting. Anything gets an arrow and will be a bonus deer for contest. Havent heard from @Rick James in awhile. Have you been able to get out at the new place Rick?
