Welp almost didn't hunt today. Was damn 75 degrees today. Abnormally hot. Most you you know how slow my season has been so today was a surprise. Came in to some rattling. Never hunted this spot. Went in after finding a heavily used trail and hung 4 cameras in the area. Came right down the trail way before dark. 20211211_153315.jpeg 20211211_154735.jpeg 20211211_165306.jpeg

It works great. The trails that I ride all look like the one pictured. Loose rock but for the most part easy traveling. I put over 150 miles going down these trails already on the bike. I would probably not have been able to be that active doing it from a mountain bike. It is hard work going over the loose gravel spots. Easier to walk. But this bike on this particular property has given me the upper hand for sure.

@Slugger - your scorecard entry is missing the time of the kill.

I guess I should have taken a closer look at the pics. Sorry, but your score breakdown is scored to the nearest 1/4". It needs to be to the nearest 1/8". Also, I'm stumped by what looks like a score of 73 9/8".

I am going to need you to post another score breakdown scored to the nearest 1/8". If you have trouble editing and adding it to your original post just post it right below your entry and I'll take care of adding it for you.

Gotcha. Score came out to 73 .125 turning that to a fraction came out to 9/8 according to google. Would it be safe to say 73 1/8?

You get one more mass measurement on both sides. Left and right H4.

Sorry for the delay. I was on the road and just got camp set up in Kentucky.

The 1/4, 1/2 and 3/4 should be in 8ths. 2/8, 4/8 and 6/8 respectively. That is, of course, if the measurements actually came out that way. Did you measure to the nearest 1/8" or the nearest 1/4"? If you measured to the nearest 1/4" you will need to measure again. It won't change the score much.

It did come out to the 1/4 and 1/2 on the nose. I will update a new post in 8ths to the score card. Can you delete my other 2 posts or I will see if I can delete them.

    Congrats Slugger!

We had crazy severe wind Friday and Saturday. Husband checked cams and a my "target" bucks were still there December 5th. Fingers crossed for late season or even that they stick around til next year.

Guys sooooo close today on a huge buck. I went in blind in the dark to a place i scouted by map. I knew it looked good but i picked a tree a little too far south. With south wind he came in and worked his way just off wind of me at about 35 yds and locked up. No clear shot and he knew something was up. He took a few more steps to where a fresh scrape was and became a statue. I had shifted around on my platform to shoot my off side and every miscle in my calves and back was burning to keep me still. Mustve been a standoff for about 5 min. Then he finally turned and walked the way he came. He knew i was there. Then a doe and fawn scared the crap out of me. She snuck in on me i didnt even know she was there and all the sudden she blew at me from right below me. The tree was between me and her. Anyway slow evening after that. I did more of an observation sit. Nice view but no bucks. Two real big does fed out on the mud flat around the stumps until dark. Another yearling doe worked past me. Until next time! Its not over thats for sure

Sorry to make you jump through hoops. I got it entered.

I'd have gotten it entered earlier but I kinda had my hands full.

I will West! I felt a little deflated when that buck was trotting off but then i remembered i came in blind and setup in the dark. I got some good intel now and that scrape was still active. Not a leaf in it and was just hit. That buck was nervous but didnt blow out. Might feel a sick day coming on soon haha!
