I never should have second guessed! . Its hard to tell in pics. My second guess was cause i thought i may have over estimated each of the longer tines by 1 or 1-1/2 inches. Congrats anyhow.Do You still have another illinois buck to kill or are you on to greener pastures?
So I do have another one in my sights. He was pretty consistent and very killable up until about a week ago, he does this every year though so I’m hopeful he’ll resurface over the next couple days and I’ll get a crack at him. I’m hoping to have a five day stretch from 11/12-11/16 to try and get back on him. I’ve included a pic below.
Dont know if you guys follow much on LFTS thread. But i found a buck dead that i was really looking fwd to seeing this year. Had encounter last year with him. Anyway here he is. At least i have something from him haha.
He ended up scoring 166-5/8 as a mainframe 8 with 2 irregulars. Just scored it for practice and plan on having my taxidermist buddy check it. Not that it matters. All for fun.
Well we have one week before gun season here in Wisconsin. Today my boys and I took some cameras down off of public land so they don't get stolen or destroyed during gun season. Here are some of the pictures. I'll have maybe 3 more hunts before gun season so i'm hoping to catch up with something decent yet.
Husband got this, this morning. We are allowed Sunday hunting tomorrow. I'm gonna try it again. We have a few legal deer on camera in day light.
Congrats to your husband, that’s a beauty. Good luck out there! I had a great trip out to Iowa. Definitely put that on your bucket list. I’ll be buying more preference points. I passed on a bunch of good bucks and had a couple encounters with some giants. It’s hard to come back here where I have one buck that I would like to kill. The wife and I have been going out since I have been back home. As luck would have it I had to take my wife some where at eleven yesterday and that’s about the time the 10 point walked by my stand. He’s a far cry from some of the bucks I passed on in IA but he might have taken an arrow to the chest. I’ll be grinding away, the farmer that I lease the majority of my land from is in poor health so the future has never been more uncertain regarding my future leasing. Not sure I will be giving some of these young bucks a pass for next year as the season wears on. Good luck! Awesome dead head Brandon. That thing is a beast.
Thats awesome Dan! One day ill start buying my points. I know how it is passing bucks in one area you would shoot in a new york minute in another. Ive passed on a bunch that i would put on my wall on peoples private that had strict rules. I tell you what though my trigger finger is getting really itchy this year! Im a 2yo and 3yo buck magnet!
So I’ve been down in my back since Thursday morning. Going out to start the truck, I missed a step and fell off the porch! Im not sure when I’ll get to go out again but I will be back out there. Today I’m able to sit up and walk around some without tears forming from the pain. Just wanted to check in with y’all and let you all know why I’ve been quiet, just haven’t felt good to be honest with you. I’ll get caught back up on the conversations as soon as the Benadryl and muscle relaxers start to wear off lol.
Trust me Greg…. I feel your pain! Haha. On that note the nerve test did seem to help. They need to do it 2 more times to be accepted by insurance then they will do the real procedure.
Hey team 4, have any of you guys heard from @benkharr ? There are some real problems with his buck entry on the scorecard.
I've noticed we don't have any bucks listed on our scorecard? I thought 2 team members had shot bucks? Hopefully we can get those on the board with some other deer! keep grinding everyone.
