I don't think it's working. He entered his second doe again and I had to delete it again.

@grommel you cannot enter another doe into the contest! That’s why it keeps being deleted.

Like Dan said, Congratulations on the doe bud…. Wasn’t trying to come off as being rude or anything, just trying to get the message to you.

I hate this! I didn’t plan to hunt today because it was supposed to be raining. I dont think it’s rain a freaking drop! I should become a weatherman that way when I’m wrong I can just blame it on the weather lol.

Had an eventful evening. Hunted this morning too and saw a scrub buck. Ive seen him a bunch on the property. Had to leave for awhile then got back out around 1pm. Slow afternoon until right about 330 or so a doe came by limping. I watched her for a min then i heard a grunt. About a minute later out steps a real nice buck. Hes in some thick and headed straight for my down wind. He caught a whiff I believe cause as soon as he hit where my scent was blowing he did an about face. He didnt blow out he just didnt like it. He disappeared and i trieed to grunt a couple times and snort wheezed at him a little later. Sat for awhile longer and watched a six pointer feed in the standing corn he came under me and disappeared into thicket. Finally dark came, i lowered my bow and crunch crunch. Here comes the big one. Then they all came out of the woodwork. Probably about 8-10 of them wLking in circles all around me. I waited it out about hour after shooting light and got out of there. One doe finally blew at me 50 yds from my truck lol. I was happy with that

Still having a rough start to my season. Lots of encounters but cannot seem to connect yet. Hunted 2 nights ago and had a bear come in to about 45 yards but would not offer a shot. He tipped over my bike and bit the seat all while I watched. Also played with my camera. Hunted yesterday evening and only had 2 turkeys come through. My cell cam did go off with a spike on it about 700 yards away so maybe I chose the wrong area to be in last night. Back out this evening. Let the cat and mouse games continue.

That sounds like a fun evening, Brandon.

Slugger - what a crazy encounter with the bear. Do you have a lot in the area?

Yes. They destroy cell cameras on the regular. They love to tear up anything you leave in the woods.

Hunted this morning saw a doe and a small buck(pass) followed her by about 10 minutes. I'll be back out this evening.

Husband is killing me. He asks if I think its a good day, I say yes comparing barometric pressure and wind to previous days the big boys are in there. He says, nah, I'm just gonna let the cameras play it out and go in all day Friday-Sunday...

    Meanwhile... Image-1(2).jpg

I’m back after it again this evening. Pulled cards but have no idea what’s on them yet. I’m back at the scrape blind and it just feels like a great evening. Wind is perfect, thermals are perfect, let’s see how this goes!

Can’t catch a break this year lol. It’s all because I’m trying to film this stuff, either that or I used up all my luck last year!

Can I come sit with you…. Pretty please lol.

Glad you had a great hunt bud! It’s on here as well… lots of pictures of cruising bucks. Think I’m gonna go to a different blind in the morning if I get unstuck from this bed!

I saw the same thing yesterday evening on my cell cameras on my private land. Unfortunately, I was on some public and got skunked. I'm really torn mentally, I feel I could hit my private and get a crack at a decent buck, however I'd really like to see some of those deer get to the next level. On the other hand I've been grinding really hard on the public and I'm not getting much for action. I have through the weekend to hunt hard, then I go back to work, my wife is out of town the following weekend so I'm home with the kids. Then the following week my wife is having surgery. Sorry to vent, but I'm really in a tough mental spot. Sitting in a tree 7+ hours a day is taking a toll on me. I have an amazing family that is tolerant of my hobby. Last season I hunted hard and didn't end up scoring until January 9th( this contest was over). I took the morning off today to spend it with the kids and get them off to school. I'll be back at it again tonight.

I think we all have been there. Sometimes you need to go to that stand that you know you'll see deer - even if you don't shoot anything. Just seeing them makes you feel a lot better about your decision to dedicate the time to a tree. Personally, I'd go to the private - and if a deer you want to see grow comes in, just give it a pass and enjoy the view.

Hang in there, keep grinding you have plenty of time. In can happen in an instant. It’s easy to put to much pressure on yourself and second guess every decision. I’m sure we’re all guilty of that. Just slow down and enjoy the process everything will happen as it should. Good luck!
