Thanks for letting me know, but if you glance at the teams list you'll see that I'm tracking it very closely. One week in, I still have 7 peeps who haven't checked in and I only have one alternate left over after filling in the blanks. I'm a little nervous.
You have a bunch of great names on this team. Too bad it's like a fart in church in here ( very quiet and awkward ) Sent from my Pixel 6 using Tapatalk
No kidding! I'm gunna start over. Hi I'm Bruce. 70 year young retired railroad signal inspector who loves to hunt. Got my first bow in 1965, and still have it! A Western Field standard hunter. Don't shoot it any more but do have Vintage Eddings Super-Cast static tip recurve built around 1954 in Marquette, IA. I may try this year. Made it out the other day to check our food plots, looking good! Did some final touches on my haybale blind on the 1 acre Big and Beasty plot. Cut some lanes at the tree stands. Oct. 1st start for me. Anybody able to start soon? Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
My name is Tony, I was born a poor black child (The Jerk movie quote) October 1st here as well. I live on 20 acres of wooded land that we bought last August… I passed a lot of deer last year as it was my first season there …almost had a shot at a slammer (for my area) but he went right instead of left. Bucks are finally starting to show up on my property as it is loaded with one and the boys are starting to separate. Neighbor says there are 4 shooters that he has seen and that I should start seeing them on cam soon… Now seriously, we need a name and a captain… any volunteers for captain or thoughts on a name? My name is Aaron. I hunt in Fond du Lac County in WI on 130 acres of WRP land with lots of grass and cattails and a little timber here and there. My brother (and nephews) owns 75 acres just to the NE of me and we share a block with mostly good guys of about 2000 acres with no roads dissecting the property. The property is multi use. We usually crack some ducks the first few weeks of October and then bow hunt the rest of the time. I’ve shot a number of bucks in the 120-130” range so now I’m a bit more picky. I also gun hunt with my kids so I let a lot of those go now for them. I have two sons (15,12) and a daughter (7). We have a lot of deer and generally some nice bucks although I don’t have anything on camera yet that really wows me, but they are there. Just got my food plots in a few weeks ago and they are looking decent. I’ll probably hunt a bit early and try to get a doe. Buck hunting isn’t usually great until October 20th or so. That’s when I usually start putting in the time. My work schedule recently changed so I won’t be able to get out during the week much but weekends and some well placed vacation days should allow me to get quite a bit of time in. I also live directly across the road from our land so it’s pretty convenient. I will be active in here. Just been busy lately, but I always participate throughout the season. This is my 6th year in the contest (I think). I’ve always contributed 50 points. It’s just a matter of whether or not I shoot a buck, but if I do, it will generally be at least 130” unless I get some ground shrinkage . Here are some buck pics of past harvests and some of last years that made it. Let’s get it! As far as team name and captain, it doesn’t matter to me. I can be captain if no one else steps up. It isn’t hard or that time consuming.
Good to have you Aaron! We were teammates year before last and on my sons before that. Sent from my SM-G950U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
We have 7 on the team chat…. Noods will be along as well … But I suggest y’all download this app as it’s easy to silence and posted a non blurry video https://groupme.com/en-US/ Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'll pick that app up when I get my new phone and number. I'll also post more closer to season. September is a crappy month for me at home and work, at home trying to get as much done as possible so I can take as much time off as possible to hunt; and at work because it's the end of our fiscal year and I have a ton of annual taskings to take care of. As long as it's not going to be hot I will be out for the Sept 17th opener in WI, then MAYBE Oct 1 Opening Day in Michigan; and then again over Oct 9 weekend in WI before I shut her down until I hit it hard the last weekend in October- Thanksgiving. Coming up blank on a team name suggestion this year...
Trying to be original… Also, if no one has an objection, I can take the Captain chair? Unless someone really wants it Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
