The snow was falling it seemed like Christmas Eve, not a creature was stirring not even a mouse.

I hope to get back out Monday evening on property that has not had any gun pressure.

What's going on with everyone? I don't think I'll get a chance to hunt until this week end.

Damn, damn, damn! today was the last day of reg bow season before the 4 day gun doe season. So I got out a little late towards my stand (3:45) and I started walkin on a path we made thru the woods, and sure enuf I kick up a big deer 1/2 way to my stand. So I back out of there and walk across another field to my other stand & push another deer at that stand.
All week they've been coming out at dark, today it was cold and sunny so of course the deer decide to come out early. I just can't win this yr. Can you believe that one?
So tomorrow I'm taking my bow & gun out. I'll try to shoot something with my bow, but if they're too far I take one with my gun. the best of both worlds.

Good luck guys. Hi Bob, I am going to try to get out for a couple of doe Saturday afternoon and Sunday. It is calling for extreme rain for Sunday so we will see. I hope to get out Monday morning as well. Here is a pic of buck I harvested 2 years ago.

In da woods, I hear you on trying to figure them out when they move. I have the best luck when bars metric pressure is ideal.

3:45 is pretty late this time of year... Are you hunting on a food source?

What's going on? How is everyone doing? It's raining here so I guess I'll have to wait until Monday to go after my doe!

I got out this morning very early in 15 foot ladder stand. Same spot where I shot my 9 pointer but different stand. I heard a bunch heading to bedding before light and saw nothing after that. I had a feeling they are under the radar. I got down early to investigate another spot and found the perfect tree. The new spot is around 60 yards away from existing stand. I looked up and saw the spot to hang the hang on and right above that is an ancient climber still in a few pieces. I guess it must be a great spot, hahaha. I left my deer cart there for the other guys to use so I loaded on my deer hauler and headed home. I would like to wish all of team 38, the replacements a merry Xmas and happy new year!

not much I could do, work related issues. No not huntin a food plot. I'm in a stand on the corner of a plowed corn field. They come along the edge and use my trail thru the woods to get to the other field. They've been passin thru right before dark, but that day they were definitely out of their pattern for time.

So I shot a yearling doe with my gun on opening morning of the 4 day gun-doe hunt. So meat is in the freezer. I'll be back out with my bow this coming week. As for bucks they're non-existent as far as seeing them around till late rut.
