new hunting property i just got a 70 more acres to hunt to night and i drove past it and i saw a pair of 8 points im excited for that this year so now just to scout it out and put them down
It was destined for you guys to be teammates On another note how did your guys' seasons go last year? Last year I sadly only downed a buck after consistently taking atleast a buck and doe for the past 3. Took a nice basic 4x5 (split and triple browtine) with junk named "Trident". You can't tell from this crappy picture but it is his right brow tine that gave him the nickname, when in velvet it looked like he was forming a tri-split browtine hence the name Trident.
Otto that's awesome! Always great to have an assortment of spots...I will though hold to the concept it's not where you hunt it's how you hunt it.
I shot two does last year and passed on several immature bucks. I've been trying to condition myself over the last few years since moving to WI from MI. Growing up in Michigan you don't get many opportunities to see, let alone shoot anything big, so you just shoot whatever. I've been patient with myself and its all going to pay off this year!
I took a doe last year, and had a few close encounters with a couple 130s, but just didn't get the shot I wanted. This is the year though. Ended up takin a small 3x4 out of the herd in feb. last season.
Sounds great m3shadle...this is shaping up to be the year then=GREAT NEWS!! Sounds like you had an awesome year none the less! This is the year one of those 130's (hopefully year older) will take a long overdue dirt nap!
Squirrels are my second favorite animal to hunt (just took down 3 last Saturday!), got a shot a big boy...this is the year you close the deal then!!!
Most definitely. Planning on a better year. I've put the time in. Now just to reap the rewards. Although my good year wouldn't compare to Real Deal.
the buck that got away the buck i never got.. it just makes me want to get back in the woods and get a bigger one to hang on my wall
The two biggest bucks I've shot I never even knew existed or even suspected to exist...that's what is awesome about hunting, your always possibly only a second from a freaking stud stepping into view :D That my friends is why hunting gets my blood pumping!
Otto picture is tiny and can't make out clearly but that's what you gotta do is just get back in the woods...one second is all it takes!
