its that one, works great, did 60 pounds of summer sausage hanging from one rack and with hickory sticks on the top rack, been running it again today making the rest of the hickory sticks and some venison cubes i cured with hi mountains cracked pepper and garlic cure/flavoring to make venison bites. smoked with apple/cherry then a mesquite.

Sorry I havnt been able to post in awhile. Busy catching up on work before the season heats up. I have several bucks moving around now. My equipment is ready to go and will hit the stand a few times this week. I have finally gotten a chance to go through the 17 pages on our thread. I like the team name and I agree with Captain nomination! Great work up there in Sask on that Mule Deer! Sorry to hear about our teammate's dog as well. Tough thing to handle.

We have a great team assembled. Make it your season and be sure to take the proper pictures it takes to make your kill official for the contest! I am still going to manage my properties I hunt. At the end of the season I can see our team in the running for the top spot. Best of luck guys and I hope to check in sooner!

I don't have much experience with charcoal smokers, I am sure there is an absolute wealth of info on google about the subject though.

I would highly recommend you look into it, I am pretty sure on the BBQ circuit that propane is considered crass compared to charcoal or straight wood smokers. but rest assure that the food I made tonight was very good too, and easy to run

Well i counted 32 deer this morning all within 50 yds ...of my truck. Made the 2 hr drive down to my lease in vernon county safe and am sitting in stand now. Looking forward to 2 days alone in the woods with my DXT in hand.

since u started talking about naps i have a funny story. so the first year i was every hunting i was siting on a stool and i fell asleep a few hours later i woke up and i realized that there was a squirrel on my lap and i fell off the stool and that squirrel ran up my chest and back to the tree. when i got back to camp i told the story to my dad and now were all have the joke that the squirrel was trying to eat my nuts and now i have not feel asleep in a stand since that day when the squirrel tried to eat my nuts...

Otto I can't imagine that happening! I've had squirrel's get real close, touch a boot or something but to be on you that's crazy!

I've had some close encounters with tree rats too, but never had one actually climb me. Nothing frustrates me more than a tree rat sitting on the tree next to me barking at me while I am sitting in the stand.

Thought I would share this one with you. My old man killed this one yesterday. Nothing huge, but decent for this area. It is his biggest buck with a bow, so he was pretty excited. I am pretty proud of him too. Scored 112 1/8.

For sure...that is the size I'll have a hard time passing on this year. However, we'll see...I am a firm believer in only shoot what you know you'll be happy with and that is a great buck no matter what...throw in it's his biggest bow kill to date is just simply priceless!!!!!! Congrats again!

Thanks guys. I wouldn't have passed it either. I knew I would get a reaction by posting it, LOL.

I plan on hunting pretty hard this year. I know it is a matter of time for me. I have put int the time so keep your eyes on this thread for updates. Got a week vacation on the first full week of November, but I am hoping to have my buck and doe down by then. I appreciate the vote of confidence guys.

Can't wait for you fellas to get in the tree so I can get some updates from you.
