    Hey guys checking in.

I haven't heard of any of you except Little chief but look forward to getting to know ya's!

I am Seth and i will be hunting Maryland only this year. My season starts Sept 7th, but IMO it is way too early! I will be out there that day, but to be honest I am not even looking forward to it.....too damn hot!! If I do put down a doe this year it probably wont be till October, simply for convenience reasons.

I do however live for Rut hunts! I am fortunate enough to have a job that allows me an abundant amount of time off. If plans and days all fall together I should be off of work from October 24th through November 25th! I will basically live in the deer woods for a solid month. I have been able to do this for the past three years, I havent killed much to show for it, but I learn something new about the public land I hunt every year.

To be brutally honest, the area I live and hunt in does NOT hold many large bucks. If someone kills a 110" buck it is talked about for years.

The good part however is I do travel to the southern part of Maryland through the year to hunt and the bucks are much "bigger" there, a 120" buck in the area I hunt would be considered common! I currently have 4 bowhunting trips planned for the year that will be anywhere from 4-6 days long. There may be more trips if I can get on a couple nice bucks.

I'm good with you having the job. I'm an old Navy Chief and I'm just not "officer material".

Unless someone else wants it, the job is yours. :tu:

Haha well for now I will humbly accept the position. But I will not take it to Fitz at the moment in an attempt to let some of the others have a say as well. Will wait closer to the deadline and if there are no objections I will post it. So are we thinking of doing a team name or we just going to kick it old school and stay as 34. I dont mind either way...I can start thinking but typically all names come out super corny lol, but willing to try.

Glad you made it buddy. Try to stay active here and there if you can. Half the fun part of this is getting to know eachother and hearing the stories of their hunts and everything. You are not required to and I thank you for checking in and hope if nothing else you bring us some deer! But would like to get to now you if your opened to have some fun with this. Thanks again buddy!

Well checked one of my cameras and moved them around a bit...set up some mock scrapes. This isn't the best picture but its a good buck forsure. I have a specific buck I'm after down in this area and having a hard time telling if this is him or not...almost looks bigger but could be just that hes closer to the camera. Either way, hes the one Im hoping to get early in NY because I get so many pictures of him. Not the biggest buck Im hunting but I figure him to be 115-120, so him and a doe wouldn't be to bad for our team on my part if I can connect.

Heres the buck I think he is...a much clearer picture of him. Im pretty sure he looks bigger to me because hes closer to the camera in the blurry newer picture but figured I would post this picture as well to see what you guys think.

Sure looks like the same buck for sure to me. If you would be happy killing him, then by all means let it fly. That's the exact scenario that I'm worried about: A deer like that walking by before I make my trip to Ohio. I suppose we'll have to wait and see what I do if that happens.

Yeah hes all mine if he comes in range. Part of me wishes I could start off with a bigger buck but I will not get greedy lol. Hes a great buck for that area and Im super excited to get after him. And said before, if we can all work hard on gettin doe and a third of us averages bucks over 100", we will be over a grand there. I forget what it took to win last year but 1400 keeps coming into mind. Doesnt mean thats what it will take this year though and I feel we can get there as well, as long as we all hunt hard and keep positive! And if we get the rest of our team haha.

While I don't have access to this year's trail camera photos at the place I'm going to in Ohio, here's one from last year that really gets my blood pumping:

Well, yes and no. The land does belong to an actual outfitter. The owner's brother is a friend of mine here in Tennessee and the section we will be hunting is set aside for family, so while it is a free-range pay hunt ranch we will be hunting where the clients don't hunt.
