Haha Aaron I can't help but check in here and there. I love this stuff. Sooooo glad to see we have a full team! Glad you made it J.C. and we are krazy glad to have you on the team. And thanks for the MD update! Hope it cools down for you soon. Been catching a ton of fish here in the mountains. Also been looking around a lot. I need to start hunting here. My grandfather bought this place to be a hunting cabin and in 14 years he hunted here inky once (now he's passed so that's all hell hunt here), I hunted here once and 2 of my cousins hunted here once (deer hunt anyway, used to do a lot of grouse hunting here). I been looking around and never noticed how many oak trees I have here. Have a camera out just for the fun of it but prob won't see anything. As much as I love big bucks, it would b an honor to work hard and pull out even a 100-110" public land buck here with a bow. Will have to try to get the time to scout it for next year. Been shooting a bit also and still on the money there so that's a good sign. Won't let being away from home keep me from that.

So fired up to hear Johnny starts hunting this weekend. Pretty sweet brother! I still am trying to find a way to sneak to a part of the state that has an early doe season and put one down but I don't think its going to work out. But fingers crossed that something will change there.

Yeah buddy it sure can be. All fishing is fun fishing to me. I'm a bass man myself but don't turn down the chance to pull of other fish jaws here and there. Oh and thanks again Aaron for the help. See you let Fitz know we are all good. Think we should have made you captain haha.

Why does that read like Rocky Balboa said it?

I'm getting everything together for the trip to Missouri on Friday. Bow season opens Saturday and I'll be there. It'll be the maiden voyage for my new Jayco 1206 camper. I made sure I got one with a shower. That's a big plus on public land out in the middle of nowhere.

Well, I haven't scouted there at all this year, but I'm not winging it either. I've been hunting this area off and on since I was 13 years old. I know exactly where to go. This spot is sort of an annual pilgrimage for my brother and myself. It's where our Dad used to take us hunting when we were growing up. I'm hoping that the access road allows me to get my camper in to the old family camp site. There's a rock fire ring still there there that my Dad actually carried the rocks for. We lost my Dad in 1990 and I think it would be awesome to sit there in our old camp site.
