This is just to make sure everyone is 100% clear on what you need to do to get points for all the deer we’re gonna kill this year! From what I’m told many teams lose out on points because they don’t follow the rules to the T. When you go out for your hunt if at possible take a camera, cell phone, regular camera, whatever it doesn't matter but you must be able to get pictures of it! Two pictures are required to get points. These pictures must include YOU, your DEER, & BOW in each picture. That does not mean a picture of you and a separate picture of your bow and deer! In the 2 pictures there must a noticeable difference in the pics. For example hold the head up in one pic, and then hold your bow in the next. It doesn’t have to be professional quality just something simple as long as you tell its 2 different pics. You can take a pic when you recover the deer or another one once you get to the truck or at home. These pics do not have to be in the field but do have to be taken and posted on the site ASAP. If you’re like me and are gonna try to film your own hunts this season, the video of the shot, tracking and recovery will take the place of the 2 pictures, but EVERYONE on the site has to be a able to see it. Once you have the pictures taken upload them to the scoreboard thread with the team 33 Whitetail Mafia and how many points the deer is worth. Ex: doe Equals 50 points, a buck scoring less than 50 inches fall under the “Fergie Clause” and will get 50 points. Also you need to put the date and time of the kill. If there are any questions let us know and we’ll get everything figured out!

Team 18 already has 2 does on the board and another team has a doe on the board. So our guys hunting this weekend good luck and get us some points!!!:poke:

Ok well let me ask the team this question. What bow do you shoot? I know most of us have it in our signature but some don't.

I myself just switched this year. I used to shoot a Ross Carnivore but a cam went bad and the string actually jumped the cam while I was at full draw and almost broke my wrist in July. So luckily I had enough fun money saved up I was able to go out and get the bow I wanted. I now shoot the new BowTech Expierience and I love it!!!!! I also made the switch to an HHA one pin sight as well and I should have done that years ago.

How do you like your HHA i just switched to it this summer as well and i absolutely love it! I had a bad habit of using my top pin on the 3-5 pin sights so i made the switch and i think its helped!

I like it alot. It has really freed up my sight picture and I feel like I can make better shots because of that. My Ross was pretty slow it was shooting around 260fps. My bowtech was letting them fly @ 305fps at the shop with 28.5" draw set to 70lbs so the extra speed is great. I was out at my parents house and just for fun I was really airing it out to see what it can do and I was at 80 yards which is the last mark on my HHA and while I wasn't worried about my groups I was hitting the middle of the target majority of the shots and it was a fairly flat trajectory. I think its a great sight and if you have a faster bow you can set your pin at 30 yards and be confident you can shoot anything under or over that within a few yards.

If anyone wants to swap phone numbers for "in the stand updates" we can PM each one another with them. Wisbh and myself have already exchanged numbers. If its not something anyone's interested in that's fine as well! Just a idea the Wisbh had and sounded like a great idea.

Went out to the farm tonight and took the last couple practice shoots Before Saturday. Tomorrow Morning around 9:00 I'll go out and grab the chips out of all 4 cameras and put a few apples down. Then try and relax and get to bed early and be in a stand at 5 on Saturday morning. Sleep will not come easy tomorrow night. I'll let you know what I have on the chips if it anything worth talking about.

I sure would like to say Hi to our last team member one of these days!

If you haven't seen it on the bowhunting talk section there is a outdoor auction in Pawnee,IL happening Saturday morning starting at 0900. Check out that thread its titles greatest auction ever, i believe its called. That post has the link to the site on it. I wish it wasn't 3.5 hours from me!

I saw that. Looks like a lot of nice stuff. I have seen auctions where stuff sells for more than new. When it come to sporting good, people get caught up in the moment. Didn't it say something about being a DNR auction?

For those of you who have trouble sleeping the night before try eating a turkey dinner that night. The tryptophan should help you fall asleep. otherwise hot tea helps, so does reading a book. (no, not a bowhunting mag). Get completely ready a couple days before the opener so your brain isn't working overtime to go through all your gear. Realize that there is a good chance you WILL forget something, but it's okay as long as you have your bow, arrows, and release.

Well I'm not real happy with my card pull this morning. Not one picture of my target buck in 12 days. They have been seeing him on a camera by my buddy's stand about 1000 yards away from me. I do have a couple 2-1/2 year olds but I was hoping to pass on them for a while or till next year. Hard to do by us because all the neighbors shoot anything. I still have a lot of small buck in velvet. I've never seen that here before. That should have been gone 2 to 4 weeks ago. Even my 2-1/2's are in velvet. Still have some fawns with spots also. We always have a couple with spots this time of year but this year it seem most of them do. I guess I'll know better after tomorrow. Me sitting out there watching is better than any camera! If I saw a decent 2 1/2 year old in velvet I would probably shoot him. I have always wanted a velvet buck but just can't justify going to a state with an early season (my wife won't let me lol!)

I also have a hard time sleeping before opening day. Just let your wife or girlfriend turn on one of those lifetime movies. If your anything like me you'll be out before the first commercial!
