Awesome photo...but wait...full penetration and exit but no exit wound/hole? Sorry but that's impossible, heard of people thinking this when it exits in the "armpit" area.

The arrow never came out the left side of the deer. It looks like an exit wound on the picture but I assure you its not. It broke the rib on the left side but not the hide. The arrow was sticking out of him when he walked up on it still in perfect shape.

Bad freakin news. Looks like I have to travel to Massachusetts this weekend for work. Be gone until next Monday. How can they do this to me? Is it legal to send a bowhunter out of state during the rut? I'm actually pretty upset, but I expect to be hunting Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

SO listen up guys! KNOCK IT THE **** OFF.. Enough is enough none of us are the judge and is all up to Fitz. Lets let him do his job. I don't want this to hurt all of us in a negative way, and well as of right now it is starting to look bad on all of us. We got the okay from Fitz to post the score of the buck so we did. What other teams do is up to them NOT us. If others want to cheat its on them not us, If they feel the need to cheat to win let it happen just know that what you did is right and they will have their own coming. Its like golf, if no one is watching and you can't find your ball do you just drop one and call it good or do you go back and re tee it up? To each its own.

Lets take this one on the chin and turn and walk away knowing what we did was okayed and was RIGHT.

I agree. It's hard to let so done talk smack and walk away. But if you have something you need to say, just say it here. Not in the contest thread. The competition is supposed to be fun and light hearted. We don't need to get all rude about it with people.

C'mon guys, they have every reason to ask questions. We have every right to just tell the truth and move on.

Well boys I am back from Indiana. Sorry I didn't really update much but I felt it was a good time to just unplug from the world and it was awesome!

The hunt didn't turn out like I had hoped. I did not harvest a deer but I did see a couple young bucks that look like they might show some promise for the future. I also checked my cameras while I was down and my big ten that I had velvet pics of is back which is a good thing, also there is a new 8 running around that we have named Hoss because he is exactly what his names implies. I bet this deer will dress 250-265 easily and he has a decent rack of top as well.

The best encounter I had was on Sunday night when I had a 115" 8 point come in 18 yards away into our small throw and grow extreme plot. He was a great looking deer and if he survives the season I think he could end up being something great. With his frame I think if we feed him right he can pack on some serious mass.

I will bow hunt a little next weekend and then its back to Indiana for a week for the gun season. I have decided that for the first few days I will be using my bow and if need be I will pick up the gun later on.

Just keep hunting and good things will happen for this team!

It's starting to pick up by the looks of it. I think the next 15 days will be hot.

I hope the rut starts kicking hard by this weekend! I plan to hunt saturday evening, all day sunday and all day monday. Then I'm hoping to be off work again next friday to hunt all day so hopefully the Tinks will pull one into me. This weekend in 2010 i seen 15+ shooter bucks on public land all chasing does, so i'm praying i can have another day like that.

I was able to grunt in some young bucks this weekend and we heard some fighting off in the distance. We didn't however see very many rubs at all. I think by the end of the week things will be picking up and hopefully by the time I am there on the 15th things will be hott!

There's the text that stated he shot the deer on that date. I'm not one to argue over the internet but it was mentioned that there's no proof in the thread that he shot the deer on this date. From now on we need to post every deer shot in the thread here so this type of incident doesnt happen again. If anyone has a issue with the screen shot of the text let me know and i can take it down but i thought it sooth some others.

Were we not supposed to give everybody a head start? Isn't that what they call a "Sporting Chance"? Well I guess since we are supposed to start hunting for real I will go out and put a good one on the ground next time I go out.

Well Jake I work in asset managment and inventory control. So if you get your 200 inch deer and feel like you still have more running around just let me know and I can come over and help you get that problem under control. :moose:

I'm only working until noon tomorrow so I can get an evening sit in.

I'm thinking this should be a good weekend. Bow hunting is hard work. If by Sunday I don't have my tag punched I will shoot any buck that walks by. I hunt on private land but it is so small that it might as well be public. I have no control over the population or quality of deer. I need one more for the freezer and I'd rather shoot a buck that gives the team 50-65pts than shoot another doe that gives us none. Obviously I will not be shooting a small buck unless things are really slow and the weekend isn't going well.

    Good luck out there guys.
