Here is the Video I made for the kill on Monday I shot the second deer in the video turns out the video quality was not as good as we thought. I only had the head of the fawn I shot in the camera lens.

Well its another beautiful morning in central IL. I am over looking a cut bean field with a little standing corn behind me. It was actually kind of chilly this morning and I had to break out a sweatshirt. So far the only deer I have seen are the ones I saw standing beside the road as I was driving this morning. We will see what happens the rest of the morning but as of now its not looking to good.

I saw 7 deer last night. 3 within shooting range. Two of those bucks. I had a nice doe I thought about squeezing the trigger on and then I thought, just wait, there's something weird about how she came in. Then I look back and there was the little buck chasing her. Now I know this is premature but I just thought to myself "YES"!!! A couple more weeks and its game on! For the time being, all the big boys are still laying low.

Ok here is an update on my season.

I was able to hunt this saturday morning and evening. I did not hunt sunday morning because I was helping track my little cousins buck he shot. Then his grandpa and I had a few beers to celebrate and I decided heading into the woods was not the best idea after that lol!

Because of work and family commitments I will not be able to hunt again until Oct. 25th. (Side note: who gets married in October and asks a bow hunter to be in their wedding??? My wifes family thats who!!)

I will be hunting hard during that 3 day stretch of Oct 25, 26, 27 down in southern IL it should be pretty good. In the meantime I hope everybody makes it out of the lull in good spirits and is ready to attack the prerut here in a couple weeks.

Good Luck with that. Keep us posted. I'm headed back out also an hope that I don't see any trespassers 10 minutes before closing on a 4 wheeler. I'll try to whack Big10 to get us some points on the board. Good Luck to all!!

Go get 'em guys. It's about 68*, cloudy, and on and off barely misting rain. I'm on my way to the stand.

Good luck to everyone tonight! I'm down at Shabbona hunting some public land. This morning was pretty slow just 1 doe at 8 yards didn't give me the right shot so she got a pass today. She very well could've been the biggest doe I've ever seen. I been back in the stand since 330 hopefully catching them stage before hitting the soybeans tonight!

Never made it out tonight. Had to help a buddy get his beans off before the rains come.

Understandable we have 55 acres of beans left that we hope to get out tm. Then we start the 1400 acres of corn that has to come down! I am glad that this year All I have to do is drive the grain truck inbetween hunts. We hired another hand to replace me. Since I moved off the farm and into the city life

Well, i seen a couple does today only 1 in shooting range but the deer were moving. The other 2 guys i was hunting with both missed does this afternoon and i had nothing come in range this evening. Cant wait till the rut kicks starts and the bucks are up and moving. I think i found a pretty dynamite spots on the public land i hunt. Its right behind where i found a bunch of scrapes and rubs last year. Its a real nice open spot with several huge producing white oaks so i know the does are there hopefully the bucks will be moving through there. I debated on hunting it this afternoon and i'm now wishing i would have but i like to hunt as many different spots as possible before the rut to see what kind of action is going on now.

Well here is an update on my season seen a couple does last tuesday but didn't have any shots. This past saturday I seen 3 young bucks running together but didn't want to take any of them. Other then that been pretty slow for me. I did see a decent sized buck in a field down the road from my hunting land. Not sure when I will get back out have to work late all this week plus this weekend then the next weekend is a youth only hunt. Good luck and happy hunting.
