Here's a better pic of the buck when I first walked up on him. Notice how he had just lost his velvet by the pink antlers and at the base there is still velvet residue.

Sorry for the nice lung blood coming out his mouth.

Went out and. Checked my cams today, got a bunch of pics of bucks shedding. Put up a ground blind while I was out there.

    Just checking in.

Food plot was seeded a week ago, 2 camera's deployed, haven't checked them. Season opens Sept 29th, I have off the first week and the last two weeks (First 2 weeks of Nov) for vacation. I'm optimistic. ;-)

My name is Eric im 28 and live in central Missouri (moved here from England 2 years ago). A friend first took me rifle hunting 2 years ago and i got myself a nice 8 pointer and after this i was hooked!!!! last summer i decided to buy a cheap bow to see if i liked it. After missing the first 2mths of the season due to been in England, as soon as i got back i was in the woods for the last 2mths and i have to say i enjoyed every second of it. All of my last season was on public land which had its ups and downs, ups been able to get a video of a buck walking past me at 15 yard while i was sat under a tree!! the downs people walking right under my treestand and my trail cam been stolen!!! So at the end of the season i knew bow hunting was for me, so i went out and read, watched and listened to all the info i could get a hold off aswell as going out and buying all new bow equipment :) Now to date, 3mths ago my friends mum has given me hunting access to around 5000 acres of land :) the only other people that hunt this land is family members (8 of us total) since i didnt have long till the begining of bow season i decided to keep to a small 150 acre plot which i could get to know the lay of the land. The pic showes my top 3 bucks on my hit list. Top 3.jpg 2 10p and a 8p

Welcome Eric!!! Best of luck to you this year.

I plan on busting 2 doe really fast so I can work on freeing up my bonus buck tag. Where I live we can harvest as much as 4 bucks and pretty much unlimited doe. It's tough when you go out and see 15-20 doe in one morning of hunting, not enough people harvesting them. And it seems that every doe has twins these days. On my main property we have instituted a nice little management program and I hope this year might be the year it starts paying off.

I can't wait to hear everyone's stories as the season goes on!!!
