I'm in Colorado along the Arkansas river . I shoot squirrels but thats just cause I like to eat them. Any coyote that comes by will get shot too

I usually throw one or two older arrows in my quiver with a field point on them, sometime I feel like the squirrels are attacking me???

Sorry it's been a while since I've checked in. I have been super busy with work and won't get a chance to get into the stand until the weather gets a little colder to prevent me from working outside but I have to take advantage if the warm weather while I can !

Some good news though, I got my new Covert Red 40 in the mail Friday! Covert simply has the best customer service out of any company I have ever seen. Started having problem with the cam I got last year so I emailed them, they didn't even hesitate to tell me to send it in and 5 days later there was a brand new cam in my mailbox.!

Hoping to get out this afternoon. They are calling for mid forties with mixed precip and wind. We'll assess the situation when I wake up.

Weatherman was wrong !!! Cool, calm, and clear. First sit tonight! Going to pack in my Lone Wolf and sit until dark. Wind isn't suppose to change overnight so I plan on leaving my stand up and hunting the same tree in AM. Going in somewhat blind so we'll see what happens. Heeerrrrreeeee we go !

Ok the weatherman was sort of right. It was a little more windy than I expected. Like 15-20 mph winds. Needless to say I didn't see a deer. It calmed down right before dark. It just felt like something was going to step out but nothing did. Gotta love big woods deer hunting. Must be a morning stand :D. We will find out in the AM. If no action tomorrow morning I will tear down and relocate for possible evening hunt.

On a different note, this was my first time running and gunning. I have a hard time even calling it that since I came in just under one hour from base of the tree to sitting still...:busted:. Hoping I can get it down to a safe half hour by November.

No deer this morning again. Took stand down.

Threw a cam up on a pretty good funnel. A lot of rifle stands in the area. Hope my cam doesn't grow legs.
