this property is about 3.5 hours from quincy I have property I hunt maybe 45 from quincy But I know that one is exclusive to me and one other which is where I would go to hunt this weekend but I can't go without the other guy there and he wont be going until the boom sticks come out to play. I live in Warrensburg the property is in Holden MO.
oh man, I must not know my Missouri geography. Did you say NE Missouri or NW Missouri? I thought you said NE, so I figured you were within an hour of Quincy. I am in Springfield, so about 2 hours east of Quincy, so around 5-6 hours from your land? That is outside my range of 2-3 hours.
ahh this is north west Missouri I hunt both if I said north east that was my mistake I thought I said north west.
Been settled in for awhile got plenty of food and drink for the day with any luck I won't need it. Just waiting on the deer now.
Had a doe walk past just a minute ago and as I was typing that a big buck was on her trail never slowed down for a shot
My goodness Wack those are some bucks. I don't know if I could make myself get out of my stand knowing those guys are around. Good luck putting one of them down.
Well she stopped within range a rare angus deer heard of but rarely seen. Bet she would be tastey and fill my freezer a lot faster.
Haha ya probably frowned upon. I watched the first buck and doe bed down about 75 yards behind me the second buck bedded up on the hill side for a minute then walked right under my other set figures.
Well the buck and doe wandered off around 2:30 at 4 a doe went by at 20 yards I held off in hopes that a buck would be on her trail but no takers
Well good news and bad news. Good news is: The first couple of nice bucks I have on camera. One even looks to be a mature buck! Bad news is...boom stick season starts Saturday. I have a day and a half to get after these guys. My question is do I hunt where the does are and hope they come along? Or do I go to where I got the pictures and hope they show up in daylight? Either way I think they will be tough pressed to make it through rifle season.
Well if it was me I would go to where the does are not sure what the rut is doing in your area but the last week here the bucks have been on the does hard.
