Unfortunately my spots produce late season. My main bush behind my house that I do most of my deer focus on is what I like to call a "*****house" LOL

I have does and fawns year round, feeding, showing up on cams etc. I have never in 4 years hunting this spot seen a buck on camera outside hunting season. No wait I lied I had one pic four years ago of one that came to the food plot one night. He must have been lost. I have sometimes started getting them to come in, mid October. But usually Halloween is my mark. It seems Halloween they start appearing in the herds. I will have 15-20 different bucks appear around then and I'll have pictures of them each for a week a time then another few will show up. This continues pretty well through to end of November. Come December they are usually gone again.

So I can't really scout particular bucks. But its very exciting hunting back there because I know Halloween comes and I will see bucks almost every sit. Its just do I take this one or wait for a bigger one??? Last year I took mine on November 12. Year before Nov 30. Year before that Oct 30. I'll try to get the 50 points on a doe early.

Went out yesterday checked cameras and did my final clearing of shooting lanes and double checking stands for opening day this weekend. My two target bucks have disappeared for the time being at my neighbor across the road has them on camera all last week. I also had 2 bucks that were completely out of velvet as early as the 26th. Looks like putting an arrow in another velvet buck might be challenging this year.

A lot of deer shedding early this year! Patterns are going to change earlier than normal in my opinion. That's good for me because all 4 deer over 140" that I've been watching are still bachelored up on the neighbors and I need them to break free and come back to my place. I've got one cam that I haven't checked in several weeks that has a real nice wide 8 showing up, and my other camera that I did check last week took a crap. It was an old bushnell that was in a spot I expected it to get stolen honestly.... Still have a solid 160's 10pt coming out nightly but I can hunt him until Oct. 18th bc the property allows horses to use their bridal trails until then, sucks for me bc I have him pegged. I need to move a cam in on a big 8 with double split brows too.... I know where he is but don't know his daylight hours anymore.

Checked a couple cards last night and not a single buck I would shoot.... kind of disappointing but not to concerned since I know where they are. Did manage to relieve a little stress with my brown dog and kill some doves and work on some dog training.

Dove tastes really good... Especially when it's rapped in bacon!

My friend runs cameras for me back on the family farm. This is a picture of a blurry picture so the quality is bad. However, this might be the biggest buck I've had on a camera!

Good luck to ya Holt, I will be sitting in the stand this weekend. Hopefully my hit list bucks show up as I haven't had them on camera the last 2 checks. If a doe shows early I will probably fill the freezer and put points on the board.

Thank Steven and good luck to you this weekend! I haven't had a mature buck on camera in the past 2-3 weeks, but My cameras aren't on my stands so I hope the bucks are still in the area, just not in front of the camera.

Damn you guys are killing me with your sit in stand tomorrow talk lol. Our canadian goose season opened today. Got my 10. Won't be going in their tomorrow. Heading up north again to fill that bear tag. After I fill that I have a couple more weeks until ducks open. Then a couple more and ill start chasing tail.

Chago good job on those geese, and good luck on your bear hunt. Hopefully the dogs wont be running around this time.

Awesome video. She heard that bow draw. Awesome. Now I'm gonna be sick to my stomach until October 1. Bear hunting is great but it's just a little taste. Nothing is like white tail.

She jumped the string alittle and I shot just under the spine, but with the steep angle I was able to clip both lungs and she only ran about 100 yards. No blood trailing needed
