Late season youth hunt started Thursday and ends Sunday. I'll be going out Monday with the possibility of hunting over a freshly cut corn field. This might be the best late season opportunity a bow hunter could hope for. Just hope it's above 20 degrees!
As you might remember I had an encounter with the 12 point on my hitlist back in mid November, he was limping pretty badly on his front right leg. Well he has shown back up the day prior to me taking my buck. Looks like he has injured his knee as you can see from the picture its pretty swollen. He has dropped a lot of weight but hopefully he will make it through the winter months. Also he looks to have lost his split brow on the right side, so now technically an 11.
That's a great looking buck! But his neck is about the size of a doe. Have any more buck tags? You going after him? Also with the injury and if he survives the winter, I bet he will grow a crazy looking rack next year.
This guy had a broken left front leg and look what happened to him! Never saw him in a stand, what a shame!
Only 1 buck tag in KY so he's off my radar but my brother might hunt when he is up for Christmas. If he makes it I'd be anxiously awaiting to see what he will look like next year.
Nope LOL My only window to hunt now is the 27-30. Lets hope I get a decent wind at one of my stands. Were supposed to have some stupid weather through Christmas. Hopefully that pushes away.
All right guys, I am getting back in the tree tomorrow morning for a hunt. I wanted to get out last weekend for a hunt, but that didn't happen. So as of now I have a full month left of bow season. I check a camera and I am getting a nice little buck coming in during day light, but he busted up half his rack. Other than that I don't have much. I will keep pushing for a buck til end of season, and hope to get some more points for the team. Any one else getting out?
Good luck! Plan on going out tomorrow afternoon and maybe Sunday afternoon. Get to try out my go pro camera that I got for Christmas.
No luck today! Had 1 doe go by this morning, but she was way out of range. I am going to keep after it for the last month and try to make something happen.
