Just got in the stand boys. Man I feel like a newb after a long off season. Sure I went bear hunting but that's not the same.

It's pretty cold out but only because of the wind. So in this deep bush it's much warmer. And I carried in a Paul of carrots and a 40lb bag of corn. So I'm soaked lol. I'm using my climber stand right now as I haven't set anything up yet. So I carried in bow, 40lbs of corn, Pail of carrots and my summit climber lol. Well after all that I climb the tree I scouted and cleared today. One thing I didn't see was a overhanging branch on another tree. So I need to climb lower to stay under it. I'll climb up in dark later to cut that branch off.

So I'm finally seated and letting the breeze dry the sweat off my back. I know that's the best way to get sick lol. Oh well deer hunting. Cheers to a good night. Maybe I'll see something even after all that clatter.

Took advantage of a crappy rainy day and went and checked my cameras, got a real nice surprise.

Think I have a new #1 on the hitlist now. Might not score as well as my others but that drop tine and long brows has my mouth watering.

Yes and the daylight picture is most mouth watering. I can't even count the monster bucks I have up here on camera. But there all vampires. That's a great buck to see at that hour. Get on him.

Had that pic of him just before 8am and on another camera just before midnight. October 5th is when the picture was taken and the only day he has been in front of a camera as of now.

That is a sweet buck! I love that drop tine. He may still be in the area but just not in front of the camera. I have watched many bucks just this year walk just out of range of the camera.

Its always nice to pick up some new land. I too would look for some oak trees and being near water has always been my best stands. Maybe try setting up just outside the area you think the deer are and watch for a evening. Then you can see were the deer are traveling and you can move in on them the next day.

Nothing last night. Today I can't go at all. I may be able to get in Monday morning or evening. I was thinking of moving a little further in towards the water. I'm using a climber on this property so I won't make too much noise relocating. Right on the water or just before seems to be a good evening spot. I sat about half way between road and water thinking I would catch them passing through. But haven't had any movement yet.

I had two 140's out at 40 yards last night! Couldn't get a shot due to no filming light... Went out this am and had a smaller buck work the tinks scrape I made last night!

You are absolutely right. I tried to load another picture of a buck that was 160+ that came in a few days after I shot my buck on the other farm but it wouldnt let me load. Maybe ill try again later. Oh well, maybe my buddy will get a shot at him.

I was hoping to bag a doe this weekend since I have been seeing a group of 4 coming in regularly, but no such luck. I did finally see a deer. One lone spike Saturday morning and again tonight.

Today is a warm day up here. South wind, I don't set up any stands for south as it rarely ever happens during hunting season. And when it does its a day like today hot and wet. Hopefully tomorrow we get some better hunting weather.

Finally had a buck show up this morning that sparks my interest (150's 10pt) but it was 5am. Still trying to track another deer down while the moon is kind of crappy. If my cell camera doesn't pick him up in the new 6 days I'm moving it to a new farm I got that has different bucks showing daily on it. Its the craziest farm I've ever hunted.... there is NO way to pattern these deer. I checked my camera during a rain storm today to lay little scent and in 8 days there were 10 different bucks, not a single one showed up more than one day. Two 4yr olds and two potential shooters I just cant tell since there is brush in the way. Hopefully this last week of Oct. I'll knock a dandy down for our team and then jump over to IN and do the same.

Nice. That deer is just missing a tag wrapped around his antler.
