Team 31 - I Thought You'd Be Bigger: Official Thread

Hey everyone! My name is Mitchell, from Wisconsin! I'll be doing all of my Whitetail hunting here in Wisconsin and will also be doing a week long Mule Deer hunt in South Dakota! I'm excited to get the season rolling and to try to win my first BH.com contest! I kill at least one doe every year with my bow, so I'll for sure get us some points that way! I've got a few good bucks on the radar, nothing huge, but a couple respectable bucks that I would guess to be around 140". My uncles 300 acre farm has produced some huge bucks in the past, so I'm always looking forward to the rut on his property! Glad to be on the team with you all and looking forward to a great season!

 

Hey Mitch, welcome aboard! Whereabouts in Wisconsin are you at? I'll be up in cheese land doing a little hunting myself this fall. We'll be just North of the Dodgeville area.

Every year I lobby for the team name "I Thought You'd Be Bigger" but always get shot down.

Welcome Mitch. I'm the same as you about getting a doe every year. I'm hoping this year I can get a shooter buck to come around.

I have no problem with "I Thought You'd Be Bigger". We would just have to figure out how to get that on an Avatar.

Any volunteers for Captain. I know we are still missing a couple of people but we need to start thinking about it.

 

I live and work in Fort Atkinson (30 minutes East of Madison). We've got some good properties to hunt around here, but my uncles 300 acre farm is in Grant County, actually only about a half hour west of Dodgeville.. I typically hunt a full week there around Halloween and might get a couple early season hunts in over there too.

Team name and captain doesn't really matter much to me! I'm good with anything!

 

A name like that would sure make it sound like we're making excuses before we even shoot the buck . I've never made excuses for any deer that I've shot but I wont shoot anyone down over a name

What about "Killin Time" ?

 

I believe we'll be pretty close to the Iowa/Grant County line and if things go as planned I'll be up there opening weekend and again on Oct 26/27/28. If you're around we should try to meet up.

Oh, and the name is a not-so-clever reference to the cinematic masterpiece known as Roadhouse.

 

Ben here. I helped make Fran's dream of having a team named Fuzzy Bunnys, so I'd like to do the same for Justin. I thought you'd be bigger is good with me.

 

I recognized it from Roadhouse and that was another reason I liked it. It fits for hunting also.

We got some rain today finally. Been almost 3 weeks with out any here in IL.

 

I'd say go ahead and make us "I thought you'd be bigger". Unless we have 4 votes in the negative

 

I Thought You'd Be Bigger sounds good to me. You guys are talking about not getting rain when people around this area are asking for the rain to stop. It's been a wet summer here for sure.

 

I agree , might as well go ahead and make that our name .

Oh, and 1 inch of rain fell on our lease yesterday. The Deer Gods are kind! Apparently they want us to kill a few late season bucks over the turnip plots. :D

 

That is quite a mouthful for a team name but it is fine with me. Hopefully the bigger the name, the bigger the deer!

 

Hey everyone!!! Checking in and looking forward to a great season!!! My name is John but feel free to just call me Sevi. I hunt northern Indiana where the corn is tall and hopefully the deer are getting big!! No bucks on camera yet but my woods only pull bucks in during the rut. I just switched to Mathews and love it. Bought my Creed about a month ago and couldn't be happier. Shot the biggest buck of my life last year so hoping to get his brother this year!!! Looking forward to getting to know all of you!!
