Well, lots of possibilities. I've heard of some bucks having 'no sexual drive' so they simply dont shed their velvet. Now i dont know if that term means that they just dont have their manhood between their legs or what- ive just heard and seen it on a Drury outdoors video. It could also be an antlered doe- not even kidding. Check out the latest Heartland Bowhunter episode and one of the guys shoots a doe in velvet.
The first photo- Id suggest putting a stand in that pinch point that connects the nursery and other block of timber. I imagine that it would funnel alot of deer through there, especially during the rut. You could also hang a stand on the corn field edge. I personally love inside field corners because I can see a long distance. Most of the stands I have are on field edges, except 2 or so. Second photo- I would imagine deer are bedding in there. Try to find the heaviest trail running through there or maybe a stand of oak trees that have acorns.
Was out last night, saw 8 turkey's and about 20 pheasents, getting kinda dicouraged, have been seeing alot on trail camera but they're never around when I out. Going to hit it again tomorrow afternon and Saturday morning...
What are we lookin at hear for wind direction? Dose the creek got flowing water? And is the corn still up? Id have a stand by the water and probly find a cupple spots at the botton thick feed to bed and bed to feed spots for early fall and then at that pinch between the orchard and the creek. I bet there bedding In the thick at the bottom. If theres no water in the creek I deffinety hunt that water. OK now the suspence is killin me where are you seein movement and were did u hang them?
Well its warm out man there all probably movein late at night and early in the morning and sence all the corn is getting pulled early this year there probably hanging in the corn. Id look for a spot near water and were you got a good beddidg area as close to a corn feild. Think positive bro at least you get to hunt I got 3 more days till i can start complaing about not seein stuff. haha good luck.
Usually about a foot of water in the creek. Winds out the the NW, sometimes S. Corn is still standing. There is a fence row at the end of the alfalfa field between the creek and orchard. I see deer jump this all the time.
Slick head down!! Got a doe this evening. Now, have to figure out how to post the pics to the scoreboard. Everyone keep some ears open in case I need some help. I'll be in touch.

I am so stoked!! I get to get out and hunt sat and sun this weekend for the IN youth season. While all my buddies will be using muzzleloader and shotgun, I will by using my Bear Game Over!!! Plan is to get up at 6, drive to where I work and park truck, get dressed and head out the 10acre woods that is just across the field. Hunt til 9 or so, then head to work. Will be hunting evening over a standing corn field.
Well first morning sit of the year...spooked some deer while making my way to my stand. Sat til 9 then went to work. As I was leaving the woods, the farmer that was discing the nearby field came to tell me he just kicked up about 5-6 deer and saw the biggest 12pt he has seen in his life. Too bad they ran into the woods on the other side of the field :/. Saw about 50 squirrels....lil rascals lol
Well one of them looks alright, but this is what I was looking for. Multiple bucks in one night getting active on a scrape line.
