This weekend was full of highs and lows.

Friday evening at 3 pm I had a giant 300 yards away walking the edge of a corn field. It was too windy to try any sort of calling so all I could do was watch him slip away.

    This is the buck-

Then Saturday evening I sat in the same stand. My neighbor was brush hogging some shrubs 200 yards away so I didnt think I'd see much. Well, at last light I had a decent eight come out of a slough 55 yards away. I grunted, snorted and rattled at him. He just walked the other way.

    Here he is-

So I cant complain, I saw a few good bucks but couldn't get it done.

Oh and i was talking to a guy at the bow shop the other day and he said there was a way to measure your doe for a score? Anyone ever score your doe? If so how did you do it or where can i find out how? I keep track of all my kills in a trophy book and think that might be a cool way to track the size of my meat kills.

I wont be heading out this weekend because Its supposed to rain saturday and thats the only day I have to hunt this weekend. But I will be hunting the whole weekend before and the week of Christmas.

And I have never heard of scoring a doe.. Seems interesting though.

Well Fella's, Another year has passed, at least this year I contributed some points to the team, was going to try to get out late season but couldn't due to a death in the family. 255 days till the 2013 MN Archery opener and I already working on how to improve on this ears success...What does everyone do in the off season as far as shooting. Myself I am shooting a 5 spot target league for the 1st time....

Well fellas we only have 1 more weekend left here in GA. I've got a 150+" deer still roaming my 50 acre bedding area. I try to only hunt this spot a couple times a year as to not push them off. Hopefully this weekend will be the final chapter for this monster. If not, it's been a GOOD year nonetheless. Hope everyone stays safe in the off season and I'll see yall next year!!

I really hope to make it to the G2G this year! Sorry I wasnt able to provide any points for our team this season....I was truly disappointed in myself! I shoot in a 3D league in our local area. There is no competition and nobody even knows anything about hunting. Not fun. Im ready to meet some new people and make some new friends! Hope to see ya guys there
