I'm on your team? This is a little suspect.

Checking in, guys. Excited for spring season, just received my blind the other day, but still waiting on a new batch of gobbler getters. Had 5 nice longbeards in the clover/chicory plot last weekend.:tu:

Sweeeet! Dan, www.random.org put us on the same team... not me. That wouldn't be fair to all these other teams.

I'm here. I will be good for a gobbler with the bow pretty early hopefully, that way I can take people out hunting and make some money lol. There was probably 8 gobblers in one of my main fields today, along with somewhere around 50 other turkeys. Should be a good year :tu:

Dude, have you not seen my lack of ability to kill the last couple years? Hopefully you're a better guide than me!

If we can't get it done here... We should probably give our bows away and start bowling and take up photography.

Well I almost got us on the board this evening. 2 big toms responded to my calls and headed my way, but when they saw my pair of hen decoys they skirted around me for some reason. They were strutting and gobbling like crazy until they got about 40 yards from me, then dropped strut and walked off. It was really windy and my blind was moving quite a bit, so I think that was what did me in.

Oh well, I will try again tomorrow evening after class

Well done buddy! I too called in two long beards this evening but I was filming for a guy I work with... His max range was 20 yards and the closest one got to 27 yards and hung out before flying to roost.

Dan will be here in a week or so and we'll do some killin!!!!

Good luck Dan! Hope you have better luck than I have been having.

I just can't get the gobblers away from the hens yet. It hasn't gotten good yet as far as them coming to calls, and I still have yet to use my strutter decoy this year. Everything sure is a lot harder bowhunting turkeys while filming, but I will get one soon if I had to guess.

Dubbs, did I see on the homepage that you killed a gobbler? Or was I just seeing things?

Still have two weeks to go here. Haven't really been out much to listen as I'm trying to wrap up a major project here at home. I'll get the blind out and in place this weekend.

Well boys I"m fianlly checking in thanks to W! been so busy with school I forgot all about the contest. anyway, I'm heading out tommorrow morning, Wed, and will probably only be able to hunt these next 2 days due to my work/school schedule. Although it's promising, cause I'm on private land and the owner told me there are 3 families of turkeys on the property and they come out like clockwork on various sites on the property. they come strollin thru at sun-up, and I've got a downed tree all picked out to put my blind against. so we'll see how it goes. this will be my very first time out turkey hunting, so hopefully a little 1st timer's luck will be with me.

Well season has been a bust. Seen 2 toms & 2 hens sticking to each other like glue. Didn't care one ioda about my calling. closest they got was 50 yds. weather completely crappy, wind, rain, cold 40-50's. Seen both sets at 0800. So unless I don't shoot something tonight w/my gun, I still have tomorrow afternoon for a bowhunt, otherwise that's it for me this spring. Sorry guys, not much happened in this neck of the woods.

Im still out and trying to get a bow gobbler. I got one with the shotgun the other morning, just to get one under my belt. They are just now starting to come to the B Mobile decoy, as the hens are starting to be mostly bred. I was going to go out in the morning with the bow, but I was shooting tonight and the serving on my string came unravelled. So it looks like tomorrow afternoon will be the next time I can get out. Its starting to get good here though :tu:
