Little by little. Sounds like he's getting there. Before you know it he'll be pulling back his first bow!!!!!
I’m ready for his little butt to be home I know that. My 13 year old has been shooting everyday. I know he’s ready for Oct 1. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Went out and shot broadheads vs field points. Had to add a twist to the bottom bud bc broadheads were hitting about 4” low. Last year, I just compensated by moving the rest up, bc my bow press was in storage. These are field point and broadheads at 40.
Opener here tomorrow. The big guy has went MIA the last week. I’ve been out glassing in the neighborhood and can’t find him. Probably just end up doing an observation sit in the Morning and Afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Here’s the full vid of the slob down the road from me. The dude that took the vid said he saw him again closer to my house. The second time he was about 1/2 mile from my house. So it’s a slim chance but there’s a chance he’ll stroll through https://imgur.com/a/rrUIJvs
I had a 165" 11 point on my trail cam either 2 or 3 years back and my taxidermist killed him at his place over 7 miles away. To get there he'd have to cross several small roads, a main highway and a river. So, a 1/2 mile down the road is nothing.
Got between 250-300 pics of trees and sunshine not sure why the camera was picking it up I had it facing north and tucked away. Unreal.
Now that the annual archery shoot is over, I’m full steam ahead waiting for October 1st. Stopped on the way home yesterday and checked cams. Had a couple good ones around the last few days. Should have a good shot at any one of them if they do this again. The bow is all dialed in and shooting great, I ended up winning the shoot with a 311. Would have set the record for highest score had I not 5’ed the longest target. But it was an absolute blast and everyone had a great time.
Man we don't see deer like that just hanging out in fields off of roads in my part of Illinois. That's crazy.
Went a put up a camera today in a spot I used to hunt once in awhile. I’ve never saw any bucks there but there has been some sign. It’s a tough little area, I’m drawn back to it because the farmer has planted corn this year for the first time. Usually he just hays the field or let’s his 12 cows graze out in it. The green is property boundaries, the yellow is the corn, blue is where my camera is and the 2 red spots are where I’m thinking of putting a stand. I wanted to talk to him today but I could tell he was busy when I went by, I have a feeling he will be taking the corn down soon. What’s make the property tough to hunt I think are that the cows have the whole run of the property besides the open field with the corn in it. I will give that camera a week to tell me what’s coming in and out of that field there are some good trails where it’s located. The possible stand locations look close on the pic but I’d say 80yds apart and the corn is on top of the hill there’s quite a drop to the bottom where the camera is.
Is this part I circled in white down low as well? Looks pretty thick and brushy in there. Be hard to hunt if it was down low though. The property looks good.
It’s not to thick down there, a lot of thorn trees. I’ve had a camera directly behind that spot next to the field and I would get occasional night movement but again the cows are left to roam throughout there and I end up with pics of those jokers also.
I got my plane tickets today. I'll be hunting the family farm back in Ohio from Friday morning October 20th to Saturday evening October 28th. My son should start putting out a corn pile tomorrow and a couple cams. Hopefully I'll start getting some nice ones on cam in a week or so.
