How's everyone doing. Been pretty slow on here the last few days. Anyone getting any pics of their target bucks out of velvet? You all ready or still got things to get done?

I’m all done. We had some sprinkles and I can see germination on the camera, hoping for some more rain next week. I’ve been working a few 16 hours days throughout the week, so I’m pretty tired a reckon. I was setting on the back porch Wednesday evening, drinking a beer, enjoying the cooler weather, and a doe and a little buck bumped out of the bottom of the yard, about 40 yards off of the back porch.

*edit: I’m not against sending an arrow through a doe off of the back porch when 10/1 gets here.

Pretty slow on the cameras here this week with the heat. The 8 point I am after is showing up every day still, but it’s always right at daybreak or right at dark. Looked like he was starting to shed in one of the pictures. I am hoping with it cooling down this weekend they are up and moving a little more. Been busy getting some orders wrapped up for my side business, next weekend is a big family memorial archery shoot we do every year and I have 10 orders on the docket to finish up before we leave Thursday for it.

Not much going on with me I don’t have any cell cams I have to go pull cards and I want to stay out of the areas. We do have some trash weather coming up so I might be able to sneak in and check some. I did order some of those annihilator broad heads that should be here next week to try out. Saturday night looks like I will be at the brewery down the road listening to the local Grateful Dead cover band so I won’t be to productive Saturday after 5.

Well it started storming so we came home early, that’s a good thing less time to indulge. I should be more productive tomorrow and check some cards. Band decided to play acoustic tonight was tough to hear.

Hard to be a jam band cover band and do an acoustic set. That energy doesn’t quite transfer throughout the band and into the crowd

The dead did do quite a bit of acoustic number but it’s tough on an outside crowd, I’ve seen this band locally numerous times and they usually jam out. It’s fine though as long as I can sleep through the heartburn from the cider I’m looking forward to get outside tomorrow and check my cams to see the 4 doe I might have on them. I never get good bucks early maybe tomorrow will be different.

IMG_4228.jpeg Got my back pack sorted through. Went ahead and stuck the spare release down in there. Seems I got decent germination in the shade where the moisture in the dirt isn’t getting cooked out. 87% chance of rain Tuesday, calling for .19. May slip back in there and over seed some more cereal rye and fertilizer in three weeks or so.

So I'm heading up to Ohio for a few days to be with family. No hunting or scouting. Just going to enjoy pizza, football, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, attend church together, and enjoy some of our favorite foods/restaurants while we are up there. How's everyone else doing? New baby doing well?

Sounds like a good time away to me! He’s doing good. Still in incu an he’ll be there until he decides to eat on his own which I’m hoping isn’t too long. It’s the only thing we’re waiting on now.
