Not sure if I’ll get out today, the weather is not the greatest and still haven’t seen a lot of movement, cold front moving in over the next couple days.
Seen 9 doe this morning and my buddy killed a decent buck. Getting lunch then headed back out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I made it out yesterday morning to a long hike spot , I had high hopes for this spot since it has a history of lots of bucks traveling in the AM thru it and has lots of rubs but nothing but a small buck & 4 does and fawns eating acorns. So I went back to a different spot for an afternoon hunt and had a 7 point at 10 yards but he was to small and not what I want to shoot and then the skies opened up and a thunderstorm rolled in and I got poured on walking out. I now have a target buck in the area that I would like to shoot.
I’m in. Same spot as yesterday morning. I doubt I’ll see anything but I came back for multiple reasons. 1. I dropped my grunt tube and forgot to get it when I got down so I figured I’d retrieve it 2. I did see a buck here and I’d like to figure out what he was 3. I don’t want to burn any other spots with this wind. Going to rain off and on all day, but I have a screw in umbrella to try out
I’m heading out in the rain it’s light then heavy going for 3 hours. Ladyforge that’s a tank. I’m going to my honey hole looking for any cruisers that might be checking the bedding.
Pretty quiet weekend for me. Had a shot on a doe this morning but decided to pass. Saturday starts my week of hunting so I will have plenty of opportunities at a better size doe.
Never made it out this afternoon after the morning hunt. Still raining on and off here. I have an appointment in the morning and the rain is supposed to stop around 2 on Monday so I might be in for a long sit tomorrow afternoon.
Well guys, I'm back in Florida now and haven't heard a thing from my buddy. I'll try nudging him a couple more times but I'm starting to think he's not sending those pics. Not sure why he's not getting back to me.
