Looks like I found a spot to go. An old buddy of mine says I could hunt his property a few days while I'm here. Never been on the property but he said it holds some pretty deer. I've got one stand so I'll scout and hang then hunt after that. We'll see how going in pretty much blind goes.
I found a nice set of matching sheds where the dot is 2 years ago and this spring I found this area where it’s been all tore up the circled area. I may go into there this evening. It’s on state land so I’m sure I’m not the only one who’s noticed it maybe the weather will keep people out of there. I will be hunting from the ground it’s thick in there.
I had intentions to go out this morning but woke up with bad headache. Gonna try and get out this evening.
I hunted public land this morning and had another hunter walk in in the dark and setup not to far from me but it didnt matter, around 9am 2 adult doe's came into 10 yards. My arrow hit a twig and deflected but it was still a lethal shot. She dropped dead 11 yards from my tree. Was a very nice morning in the woods, Thank you god, feeling blessed.
Sticking to my original Saturday evening plan from the beginning of the week. These high winds are either going to help or I’m going to get busted. It’s funky terrain, so it’ll be a learning experience at the very least as far as what the wind is doing in this sort of bottomish area
YES! Great job!, looks like a great doe. Way to keep the team rolling! Sent from my iPad using Bowhunting .com Forums
I finally got a picture of the buck I had at 12 yards bedded in the drainage ditch. He came through before daylight this morning and then caught a glimpse of him chasing a doe about 8:15. We also got a picture of the buck that I saw walking out this morning. I’m not the best at judging from pictures, but I think both are quite a bit bigger than the one I shot last weekend. They’ll be my main targets for the remainder of the season.
