Slept like crap, leaving the house in 20 I should be in my stand by 630 ish. I don’t think I’ve ever killed a deer in that area before 8. I’ll be on an oak flat. Right about where the blue dot is.
Good luck! I’m working 7am to midnight due to the dismal blunderings of the Indiana University Central Heat Plant. I’ll be out Saturday evening possibly and Sunday morning for sure. 8.5 hours OT equals 12.75 hours of comp time, so 3 OTs and basically have a week of time off. This sounds all fine and dandy but there’s one catch. We can only accrue it 10/1-sept 30 of the next year, then what time didn’t use, they cut a check and pay it out. So we’ve just hit the ol reset button and now I’m starting to accrue comp time to take a week off in november.
Busted by a does at 19 yards. I thought she was gonna give it to me. I think the steam from my breath gave me away. Got the blood pumping. She blew at me probably 30 times. It was ridiculous. Two minutes later, two young bucks came through. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I plan on getting out this weekend and adding 50 points. Supposed to be in the 40’s here in the morning and my finger is itchy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
A slew of activity on the cell cam this morning but still no decent bucks. Hopefully the rain we got yesterday will germinate the over seeding I did when it was supposed to rain last time
I will be headed up to the farm after work today. First sit of the year tomorrow morning, will primarily be buck hunting for the first couple of weekends since for the most part I will be the only one hunting. End October when the rest of the family starts coming I will stick a doe, nicer to do that when I have some help to process them quickly.
Got the boy moved out to Bozeman last week. Heading to SD to set cams and do a little hunting here shortly. Got a pretty good one in IA last night. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think it’s too early to try to push back to this spot in the am (yellow circle). I don’t have access from the other side. I have found decent rubs and beds there in years past, but it’s all the way through the field and to the back property line, which in the dark, I have deer blowing at me about every time I try it. May save that area for when I have a weekday to hunt and the people won’t be feeding their cows down the gravel drive. NW wind btw. Probably end up in the food plot stand. There was quite a bit of traffic around 9:30am today. I want to try to get some eyes on a decent buck across the road but may save that for the evening if I get a chance to go out Saturday afternoon.
Good luck to anyone out this morning!! Beautiful 43 degrees here with a light northwest wind. Perfect for the stand I’m in. These two made an appearance in the field last night when we pulled in. Hoping they stuck around close through the night.
In a little late, didn’t want to bump anything in the dark. I made it in really clean to the edge of the right of way/ food plot and going against all rules for October lol.
Good luck! I’m on baby duty this morning but I’ll be out this afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It’s pouring here, keeping an eye on the radar to see if I can get out. It was supposed to stop around 4pm last time I checked. Might just be an evening hunt today. Good luck team.
Still out here. Had a nanny and two fawns come through just out of distance. Later, three fat does snuck up right in front of me. One came within two feet from the blind. They didn’t know what it was and kind of spooked. They didn’t pick up on me inside. Just had two does run off in the distance. A doe just blew in the woods. Hopefully more action coming up.
