Getting ready to climb down. Saw what I’m pretty sure is this trio of does and a really young 8. Can’t wait for this evening in the bean stand. Really didn’t have any expectations for this am sit but it was good! Couldn’t let on fly on the bigger doe with her having the little one in tow.

Nothing for me this morning. Cell service was not good at all. Going to be a warm, not positive where I will go.

As long as he stayed on the trail he was traveling, would have had a 25 yard shot at him this morning had I gone up to hunt. Not the top target we have, but would have been a tough pass. IMG_5994.png

Never made it out tonight, stayed home and made dinner for the family. It did cool down nice, I’ll definitely be back out in the morning.

Saw 4 doe across the field. I didn’t stay until closing time so I could get out while they went back in the timber. 7 doe and a buck for opening day, I’m pretty pumped.

Wife and I leave Thursday evening to head to the family farm in Central Illinois. Going to set up and brush in a blind and hunt the weekend. Good chance for something to hit the ground.

I really really wanna kill a deer with my long bow a friend made me a few years ago. Now I just have to talk myself into leaving the Mathew’s at home.

Looks like your shooting pretty good. What distance was that?

They picked the beans today on my road. The road adjacent had beans planted late and they’re just now turning. Normally their combine is too big and leaves quite a bit behind in the corners, they must’ve down sized this year lol. I sort of lost the battle of the food sources for the time being I think. There’s a big cold front coming this weekend, and I plan on one morning and one evening sit, not sure which days, but lows in the mid 30s. Two does in the field as I’m grilling ribeyes IMG_4300.jpeg

That was at 20. I didn’t want to shoot any further than that.

Feeling decent now, I will be out in the morning. Have to work until midnight so it will be a quick turnaround.
