Checking in from MI! This season will be an interesting one for sure. Been one hell of a roller coaster this year and I am no where near prepared. I got one stand up last weekend and that will be the go to for the first week or so. I’ll let them cameras tell me where to focus from there.

 

I'm here. Don't have much hunting time this year, but I'll be making the best of it. I'll be hunting the family farm back in Ohio the 20th to the 29th of October. No trail cam pics yet but my son is working on getting the corn pile going and the trail cam running. There are a few giants there that I know of. I'm pretty sure I'll be good for a doe and 50 points and hopefully a decent buck as well.

I can’t think of any good names this year. All I can think of this morning is The Limb Loppers and Beanboozled lol

Checking in. Glad to get this started. Northern Illinois. Hunt in-law property in Central Illinois. May have snagged a 75 acre permission piece here in Northern Illinois, but rut focuses hard on the Central IL piece. Otherwise, I will jump on public.

I will be hunting NY starting October 1st. Fortunate enough to have 5 separate private properties to hunt totaling over a thousand acres, that’s where I will spend the majority of my time. Bobell State forest is 8 minutes away that’s little over 2k acres. November 4-11 I have a tripped booked in Missouri.

 

October 1st opener here in Indiana. I skipped the contest last year bc we were building a house. Now we’re moved in after living in a camper for 21 months. I don’t have as much pto time to burn this year after building the house, but I’m right where I hunt now so things should be easier.

No big bucks on camera yet this year, as they usually don’t show up until later in October. Buuuuut this is a pic of a video of a buck a mile as the crow flies. I’m just saying it’s possible this buck could or has possibly touched a hoof on the property I hunt lol

 

Realistically, this is the buck I was after last year and blew it.

 

And if @Shawn Clark remembers back to 2019 when we were on the same team, I swore I wasn’t going to kill a 2.5yo buck and that’s exactly what I did that year, and the next year. And maybe even 2018 No promises this year!

 

Is this one still around? That’s a great deer.

 

2.5 year old Buck more than likely would not get a pass from me unless the slammer is on his heels.

 

He made it through but usually won’t show up until about mid October.

Yes, I do recall, lol. Since my hunting time is very limited, I may shoot a 2.5 year old. But hopefully my big boys show up. Remember the buck I called Mr 6? He's still around and if you remember the one I call Eyeguard, he's out there as well and probably over 200 inches by now.
