    What I’m working with.

Blue mark is my stand. 30yds off the corner. All deer have came out of the neighbors on the south red box and made their way north or by the tree line to the NE of my stand. Think I’m gunna park my butt real close just north of that small tree line splitting the field next south wind we have.

Planning on heading back up to our property tonight after my boys practice is done. Should be able to get a few hunts in this weekend along with moving some cams to see where the big boys are moving this year.

I’m still looking for a shooter. Might shoot a doe since we finally have some cool weather

The boy was pretty much back to normal yesterday with hand, foot, mouth so I’m in a tree this morning. One doe and four smaller bucks so far. Pretty much on a biggest buck of my life or nothing weekend with the boy not up here.

Well it was an uneventful morning for me, didn’t see a deer, and only saw a couple squirrels. Back at it tonight.

Working this weekend and its hot...no hunting. I did shoot my bow this morning for a bit. Temps should be pretty good by next weekend. Back to the mid 80s this week which stinks.

Hoping this season ramps up! Feel kind of out of it. Maybe that means a monster buck will give me a shot.

Ash....sounds like a tempting 6 point got the pass...

I have 0 bucks to chase right now. My opportunity will come sitting all days in my rut stand I think. First time in 10 years of running cameras on my place where I don’t have at least one shooter showing up.

I’m not being picky this year either. I’ve got one that was maybe 110” late August but nothing since. All little bucks.

Planning on my first sit this Saturday evening pending the rain holds off. Light rain I might still go, just depends. Biggest concern is the blood trail in the rain. The cooler weather has me itching to go out big time.

Ya it was and I hope not to regret it. Just hoping for something that will score more for the contest. I’m more of a meat hunter just hoping on big bucks. My style is get in the woods as much as you can. Passing up what would have been my first bear has me scratching my head also. Not sure what’s got into me. I may have another encounter with that buck. I still have 5-6 stands I have not hunted yet so I can keep them fresh. Still lots of time.

You passed them each for a reason. Sometimes just have to trust your gut. There's been times I have passed on deer I could have shot but just wasn't feeling it. I tend to think it saved me from something going wrong. At least that's what I tell my self, lol

I have a bad problem with passing deer… for what reason I don’t know. I have passed deer with my bow I likely would have shot with my gun if it were rifle season. Maybe it is just my yearly optimism that “I still have time for something bigger”.

All I know is that I’m excited for the next few weeks. This is the time we live for.

Back at it this morning, I’ve got lots of vacation time over the next few weeks. I’m hoping the weather and the deer both cooperate, but either way this is the best time of year for sure!

Next two days Im working on my two daughters vehicles, doing some scouting, and may get in 1 hunt. Darn 10 to 12 yr old cars!
