It happens, I tend to shoot high and right over their backs because I rush the shot. Either way glad it's a clean miss.

Ive found out if I break my thought process with something as simple as internally saying "its 20 yards, focus", that I tend to not rush the shot. It breaks the fight or flight crap going on by establishing command over your actions instead of just reacting under stress.

I definitely rushed the shot too. I had a spike, doe, and 2 fawns 40 yards to my back. I was watching them and the doe I missed came out behind me. I had a lot of movement going on and was caught off guard. Every miss is a learning moment and can’t let it get to you.

Made it back to NY. Both properties have potential but they might be too far out for my wife. I find it comical I called both listening agents and texted the 1 and still have not heard anything back from the Kentucky realtors and the Tennessee guy has not followed up with me. If I was selling land that would be my number 1 priority. Still have 18 months or so until my son graduates before we leave NY. Season starts Wednesday I think I’ll be out for the am hunt only.

Season starts tomorrow here, probably won't be making the trip up this weekend with the warm weather. Next weekend will be the first sit of the year for me.

Nice! I have lived in MI my whole life and have not visited that area. Plan on taking the wife up there at some point. We don't gamble or golf, but I'm sure there is plenty to do

It is a nice area! Definitely worth a weekend trip just to see the area. In the summer, the casino does a concert series which is fun. We've done a couple and tickets are always reasonable and unless my wife really wants to go, I don't care to go to the casino itself.

Alright, looks like about 1 more week of crap temps and it should settle down. I may hunt tomorrow just to keep the edge, but its gonna be 90.

That must be the same front moving through NY Tuesday, Wednesday. High of 82 tomorrow then a low of 36 on Thursday. Question for you guys. I raised hell on that property today getting that doe out. I found some really good buck sign when looking for the doe. Do you think it will be to early to get back in there Thursday morning? Id go right in there on the temps drop and go for it. Hunt that scrape line then get out. Then the next Oct 20th or so cold front, hunt it again but slightly off by like 50 yards to one way or another on scrape line.
