Had an unknown buck grunting at a doe and fawn right at last light. Heard a fawn bleat then jumping around. 4-5 grunts. Never showed themselves but I saw a doe and fawn in the field when I was walking out.

I still can’t get over how many times that nanny doe blew at me tonight and didn’t blast out of there. Easily over 50 times.

I'll be headed up tonight after daycare trunk or treat for 9 days of hunting! The weather looks great, bucks have been on their feet, the best time of the year is here! Tomorrow I will have to get a stand hung somewhere for the consistent east winds we have coming this week, but that shouldn't be an issue. Freezer is looking empty, hoping to at least come out of the week with a doe.

I hate SE winds. Went on the ground tonight on the corn that was combined today. Saw a lot of deer just wasn’t in the right spot.

If I finish helping my mom with her yard work early enough I’ll grab my XOP and set up where they came out. Otherwise I’ll be on the ground again closer to where the deer were coming out tonight.

My plan is to go where I have been seeing all the sign in the morning. I need to check those 2 cameras to see if they picked up whoever is in there.

Didn’t have any action this morning, but went back out for a midday sit and not 15 minutes after getting into my stand I had a real nice 2.5 year old 8 pointer come out. He gave me multiple shots at 25 yards, but I decided to let him walk…really hoping he sticks around and gives one of my boys a shot yet this year.

Didn’t make it out tonight. Had some beers with my mom and her friends to celebrate her retirement. Final day of work was yesterday at 67 years old. Gray cloud over the whole thing because she just found out she most likely has COPD (hasn’t smoked in 15+ years).

Always something in life. Just keep hammering.

    Good luck everyone!

Seen three shooters so far, one was within 10 yards of getting poked. That one and one other one hot does. Sitting a new tree tonight, overlooking an area of a corn field. Nothing moving yet, hopefully soon

Do it! Going back tonight where I saw that wide 6. If he gives me a second chance I may take it. My uncle and his buddy took these 2 the other day. The bigger one came from the property I hunt. Should be in my stand by 330 or so. EC9AFB19-B27D-4BD0-8BFD-3F0C8189A7E6.jpeg 265E3382-2BDD-472E-B174-482C9DE7CDD2.jpeg

No deer down yet, but it has been exciting. Had a 9 point offer me a shot this morning but wouldn’t stop when tried to stop him. If he wasn’t my biggest buck he would have been close. Then tonight I had what might be the biggest buck I’ve ever seen hunting here come out of the woods 50 yards away. Went into the corn and started fighting with the 9 point from this morning. Both went opposite direction of me.

Saw 15 different bucks last night, 2 were shooters but stayed out of range in the field. 5-6 were nice 2.5 year olds that are very tempting to shoot but trying to let those go. The rest were smaller farm bucks.

Going to recharge tomorrow morning and get some things done around the house for my grandma and back at it tomorrow evening. Going to move the stand I’ve been sitting in a little closer to where a lot of the deer have been coming out of the woods. Shots will be tight but I might have an extra shot into the corn field where coons knocked down a 30-40 yard circle a couple rows in
