Saw some good bucks this weekend, trip got cut short after the saturday evening hunt though, now my wife has hand foot mouth.. Sat on the ground in the corn field saturday evening. It was a crazy fun hunt, had deer around me all evening and had a nice 2-1/2 year old come within 5 yards of me before he was unsure and walked off. Didn't see the buck I was hoping to see though. Back at it this weekend.

Got my butt kicked tonight I thought for sure the big guy would be out that has been tearing up my spot. I got 2 cams up today so we will find out one way or another. My back is not used to sitting 5hrs in a chair that's about 6 inches off the ground. I'm tempted to hunt the stand tomorrow and give it one more try whatever I have been doing as not deterred that deer from making fresh scrapes and rubs. Every time i go back there are more. The only hours that I have not been in there is 1030-1. Still have another doe tag to fill with bow so another spot may be in order tomorrow morning then a new spot in the evening. Just put in another 20hrs of vacation so I have off the first week of November half days. With the vaction I have for the month i only work 2 full days Nov 10 and 11th. Then off the rest of the month.

I have a thing going on with my back too. Posted in the live from the stand thread. Felt like a knot in my mid back 2 days ago. I stepped off the last step of the blind yesterday and it felt like someone stabbed me. Almost dropped me to my knees. Still hurting today. At least today/tomorrow are ****ty days. Big time winds and rain. Hope it’s better tomorrow. It hurt holding my gun with my left hand/arm. Right is a lot better so I should be ok with my bow.

Gunna tear down a stand and move it to a spot I haven’t ever sit but have always got buck picks starting around this date.

The spot is one that you wouldn’t expect anything there. I need to trust a few years of buck pics and sit it a few times with a NW wind.

You can’t see on the pin but it’s kind of an open swampy area on our south end.

My back wasn't as bad as yours, were talking like 2 old dudes. Hopefully you get a crack at some of those

Moving my stand when I'm finished with work. Also moving 2 cameras around. Not getting the scrape pictures I thought I would. Can't just let them sit. It's time to find where the bucks are at.

Mother in law just had her first round of chemo for a neurological autoimmune disease she's been battling the last few years. Going to go hang out with the family instead of hunt after I get things moved around.

I hope your mother in law gets better. Ive had family members with neurological autoimmune disorders for years. It is hard.

I scraped hunting tonight still high winds than I like. Came into work to save some vacation time. Have to work to 1am might make it tough to get out in the morning, if the wind is right I might go where I saw the borderline 6 last week. I know the hunting is supposed to be getting better but it already feels like the clock is ticking. There is also an east wind for most of the week. I don't remember a season with so many days with east winds forecasted.

Always feels like the clock is ticking. I try not to get too worked up about that anymore, but it still gets me sometimes. I just put myself into the best stand spot I can each hunt and roll with it.

Got tomorrow and Friday off and have had the cameras start to pop with some daylight buck activity. Time to spend lots of time in the woods over the next 4 days!

It’s stressful living hell. It could always be worse though.

I got the stand moved. Original tree I had planned didn’t work. Too much obstruction. I set it in a small dying tree on the edge of the swampy stuff. 3 sticks high. Tiny buckthorn tree as my main cover just over the base of my stand. Solid buckthorn back cover though. I’ll get you guys pictures of it tomorrow. It’s crazy enough that it might just work or be the worst thing I’ve done.

Finally saw some antlers this year…nice 1.5 year old 8 pointer that I decided to pass on. Gave me a 20 yard broadside shot, now I just need one of the big boys to do that.
